Worked on my rig all day. Swapping out power steering boxes. I can't turn right for some reason. Had to tap the new box for hydro. I had some issues removing the centering valve plug (newer box). Got the box back together minus that stupid centering valve plug. I'm thinking of leaving the spring out of the valve. Hopefully will have it back together tomorrow.

I will be there Friday evening and stay through Sunday. Cant make Holy Cross sadly...

Went down to my parents house and gave my truck a once over. Fixed a few welds, checked all the fluids, nuts and bolts. My rear springs are bent and I have a set of 4" marlins sitting at home, but there is no way to get bushings in time. Either way this MIGHT be the last run for my truck and then it will be partially parted out

I just need to get cheez-its, pb&j, some Doritos and some brews and then decide if I am going to drive it out or tow it.

Axles, tires, engine, tcase and trans are staying. Seats, cab, frame, cage, bed, etc is being sold. I might see if there is interest at the Jambo for parts on it. The frame and cab would be great to swap all your running gear into :)

Yeah, but I'm trying to build a bigger whatever... like a 4Runner. Still like those seats though. Maybe the cage too.

Great news!!!!!!  Fire ban has been lifted for National Forest Service land!

"CHAFFEE COUNTY FIRE RESTRICTIONS:                                                       JULY 24, 2011

After consultation with local fire officials and our federal lands counterparts, Chaffee County is removing its fire restrictions within the unincorporated areas of the county.

National Forest Service has also removed its restrictions.

A word of caution: BLM lands remain at Stage II.  PROHIBITED on those lands are ALL open fires, including campfires; smoking except within a building or automobile; chainsaws and other motorized equipment “for any purpose;” and blasting, welding, and similar activities.

Another word of caution: Because of the unpredictability of our local weather conditions, and the possibility that dry conditions may well return it is quite possible that the County may return to some type of  restriction..
"

Looks like we will get to have campfires this weekend!

I made some signs this year.  I am placing a big road cone with some reflective tape at the intersection of Hwy 285 & CR 305 for the guys towing (305 is easier to tow).  I also had a Jambo / Addicted sign made and I will place it at the intersection of Hwy 285 & CR 315.  It also has reflective tape on it.  Should be easy to see.

I will place signs at the intersections of 315 & 376 and 305 & 376 pointing people in the direction of camp as well.
