You probably would think a homeless person was off his rocker, but does that mean we should just stick our heads in the sand, and call this :bull crap: ?  granted we shouldn't assume it is true without our own research into it, but negating something because it would sound nuts coming out of someone elses mouth, someone who would most likely have less knowledge about the subject anyway, is a dangerous road to head down.

If this turns out to be true, this "politics bull crap"  Is going to change our way of life, very quickly.  I pray that this is nothing more than fear tactics and rumors, but it wouldn't surprise me if it was true either.
Just blowing stuff off as politics bull crap is ignorance, plain and simple.  If we stand by quietly, and allow the politicians to play the politics bull crap game without ever getting involved, we're going to find that they've "gambled all of our rights away, for their own personal gain.  Ask Europe pre WWII how looking the other way and letting the politicians play worked for them.

[rant: on]This is only the tip of the iceberg. Do yourself a favor, and watch some of the "related" videos that come up as well. The US as we know it is in it's final death throes unless we do something quickly. Not exactly sure what that "something" is, but we need to stop the fed from destroying this country. Either that or figure out how to take it back and re-build it the way it should be. This started long before Obama came into office, but I think he is "the closer", who will seal our fate. [rant: off]

Here is a link to the entire speech, which is actually pretty long...about 1.5 hours. But here is another link to the PDF draft of the copenhagen treaty. Read it for yourself (all 200pgs), and make your own decision.

For those who think this is policial BS, you can enjoy your blissful ignorance until its' too late. then you will have lost all the freedoms that you take for granted today. As BD pointed out, look back at history and see what can happen when you don't stand up and fight against what is wrong and evil. Hitler/Nazi/WWII is a textbook example of what can happen when good people don't do what is right, and just go along with what is easy.

There are currently about 20 states that have resolutions in their state constitutions that allow them to secede from the union under specific circumstances. One of those being when the Fed. Govt no longer serves the people and the states, and becomes self serving. You can watch several video's and see the actual documents by doing a simple search. This kind of thing (what the fed is doing), will eventually destroy the union. Mark my words.

QuoteMakes me worry.  You better believe I will be separating from the Military before I uphold some communist regime.

Take a few moments to read thru the UCMJ (uniformed code of Military Justice), and you will find that the military is sworn to uphold the constitution, not the office of the president. It also strictly forbids, and provides protection against following an unlawful order. Just because the president orders troops to do something, does not make it a lawful order. While most of the document is very boring, and is great for treating insomnia, it does shed some light on your legal rights and responsibilites as a member of the armed services.

And by the way, thank you for your service!

It's more of a issue that if he signs the treaty then he will be signing the country away. The U.N. doesn't want the U.S. to be a super power anymore. We need tell the U.N. to jump off a bridge while wearing cement shoes. Obama is doing his best to put the final nails in the coffin that people started building along time ago. Doesn't matter your views you have to get tired of him putting down the U.S. all the time. POLICTIANS IN GENERAL ARE LIKE DIRTY DIAPERS. We need to stand up and take the country back from the federal government!!!! The issue is not the recession in this thread. That is just a peroid of hard time. This treaty will be the end of the AMERICA AS WE KNOW IT I fear.  We need to start taking care of are on people, stop the flow of illegals coming in (no matter where they are from), and tell the U.N to get out.  Thats my  :twocents: on it. Whats been affecting us for the last 2 years is a drop in the bucket compared to what we'll be facing if even half of what is being proposed comes to fruition (this, obama care, gun control, cap and trade, etc.)  Speaking solely from a financial standpoint, we're facing a HUGE cost.  Our nation is already in debt, and is very rapidly increasing that debt.  So now we're going to be paying for 3rd world countries because we "screwed up"?  Where do you think that money is going to come from?  Us.  The Taxpayer.  Same with Obama care.  How much of your hard earned salary are you willing to contribute?

Gun control legislation is being enacted in many states, Obama is going to be headed that way in the near future, Our wheeling lands are being shut down at a breakneck pace, we've already got restrictive vehicle laws in many states, next thats going to be federal as well.

I believe it was Thomas Jefferson that said "Information is the currency of democracy."  Start spending, and get informed.

You say only the strong survive?  Be strong then! Prepare for the future, get educated, and get your head out of the sand.  If you love this once great nation, we must speak now, and speak loudly in order to preserve it.

Slowly inch by inch it seems that people outside of this country are coming up with ways to take over here. This reminds me of when Clinton signed some of our national monuments and forests over to the U.N. which they now control forever. I don't see any benefit of a global government other than to rape this country. Cap and Trade is another rape that if signed will cost us at least $15.00 per tank full of the average car. That's not including larger vehicles like trucking and trains. Think of the cost at the store to buy food when it will cost over $50.00 per tank full to fill that big rig each time it fills up, you could just imagine the cost to fill a train. Our economy will grind to a stop, the only ones that will benefit will be government. There will be no attempt to even use a dime of that money to help the environment.

Here is another link to the Copenhagen treaty, which appears to be an updated version, with proprosed changes in [ ]. I find Pg 26, paragraph 12 section C to be very telling what will happen to our finances.

http://wattsupwiththat.files.wordpress.com/2009/10/un-fccc-copenhagen-2009.pdf

It also appears that this was in the making for several years, with the expectation that once Pres. Bush was out of office, it would get pushed through as quickly possible.

Im not trying to start a fight with you, but the more you say, the more you reveal yourself as part of the problem!
1. Its not the same old stuff that we are dwelling on.. everyday there are new developments!! Freedoms are being lost everyday.. how is this the same old stuff and how should we not be alarmed?!?
2. Democrats.. republican.. I could care less.. they all work for the same..   to think that there really are two separate parties with two separate agendas.. you need to wake up.
3. Who cares how many threads there are... obviously there needs to be more to wake people up... and that's the whole point of it is to spread the word... that's how you take action. So if you have a problem with the threads, either wake up or ignore it! That's why on almost all forums there is a general chat section!
4. Gun control where?!! Did you seriously not see that just last week California just passed a bill that requires a thumb print and id on all ammo purchases so they can track all ammo sold in California...  and now you cant buy ammo from online sources if you live in California? Do you really want the government tracking your ammo purchases... or any purchases for that matter?!?
5. Just because you don't see your specific local trails closing doesn't mean they are not closing at other places... This is just an ignorant comment that doesn't even need to be addressed....

In conclusion...  telling others and talking about it and making people aware.. IS doing something about it.

If you think it is so stupid, then just go to a different thread, and do what makes you happy. You don't need to comment on this if you think it is just a waste of time. Those of us who do feel that it is important would be happy to discuss it amongst ourselves, and not have to deal with the destraction of someone calling us stupid. When this comes to pass, and your freedoms have been wiped out, then you can look back and think "maybe I should have paid attention". For now, its a free country, and you can do as you please. We're not going to force you to read this page, and we certainly aren't going to force you to participate.

The only chance we have to defeat this is to write to the congress and insist that they do not ratify any treaty that is signed. I recently read that Obama may not even attend this conference, but I'm sure he'll be sending some dignitary to do his bidding. Not exactly sure how binding that would be, but I still think we need to be active in telling the congress and the senate that we will not stand by and let them ratify any treaty that potentially supercedes our constitution, and creates unimaginable spending, and takes our taxes and re-distributes it to some other country. i have read a good portion of the treaty (see the link above), and it is amazing how potentially damaging this would be to our country. It would basically create a world watch dog, that has no oversight, and could mandate insane regulations that would not only cripple our economy, but suck our hard earned tax dollars out of the country. The worst part of this, is that it is based on a faulty assumption that we (humans) are even partially responsible for global warming. The whole thing is just a disaster in the making. Please take the time to write your congress[wo]man, and let them know how important this is. I will try to post up a word document as a template, that you can feel free to modify to your liking. In the meantime, here is a link lets you download a list of the contact info for all the members of this congress. (I wanted to post it, but it's not the correct file type). Hope this helps. There is also a link to a website where you can put in your zip and find your representative.
