try about 3 hours to trees from S.A> if you don't hit a friggin deer or cow going down that darn road..its kinda scarry at night for those who aren't used to driving in west tx at night,  and you will realize why those darn rednecks all have huge grill gaurds or front end replacements here in TX

thats y my last 3 trucks have had full front end replacements, made by me. :beerchug:
i hit a buck doin 77mph on i 10, about 2 1/2 hours west of san antonio in the 89 suburban i used to have. the front end replacement i had made for the truck weighed about 570 pounds, had a couple of scratches to the bare metal of it, but no real damage to my truck, the deer didn't need to go to the slaughter house, it was in about a million pieces already, repainted my truck red.

:headscratch:
570lbs of bumper ?
the main part of the front bumper was 1"thick 4"diameter pipe, with a 1 1/2" thick brace welded to the inside of it for extra strength.
mounts were 1" plate steel going 1 from each corner and 2 directly infront of each frame rail.
vertical bars (on either end of the grill protection) were 2" thick i beam.
then some 1/2" pipe going around each headlight and 1/4" diamond plate for the skirts and base plate.

i got all the metal except for the diamond plate for free
reason i made it so big was because i was getting sick of people backing into me and rear ending me. (almost nobody in midland can drive if there life depended on it.)
