The offroad place in East Texas is in Gilmer.  Haven't been, but the folks from TTORA like it and have get-togethers out there periodically.

Was up Ya'll-
Ryan from San Antonio here. Gilmer is a cool place, I have been there many of times when I lived in Houston. That is a long ass drive from our side of the state, but those who live in the metroplex have it easy. I used to go there w/ my binders friends and wheel old scouts, and still do. But damn those little Toyotas. Got the bug and have been wheelin an 85 for about 3 years. It needs a motor, but otherwise it is built. There is a perty good placwe here in S.A that swamper and I wheel. Ya'll take it easy - Ryan

Ryan - What springs do you have on your truck?  I have an 85 with 4" Procomp lift, but very stiff.  Does yours ride softer on the highway?

79coyotefrg

yea Ryan Gilmer is about 180 miles from me i think,  im about 75 miles northeast of texarkana
im guessing you and swampy are close to 350miles????
i'll have my truck M O B I L E tomorrow, putting the 20R out of the celica in it till i get back to work and can get the 22block from the machine shop

Yup, From houston it was a 4 hour drive to Gilmer, from S.A. we are lookin at about a 6 hr trip...in all honesty, its a great place to wheel, east texas is nice in the fall, and gilmer has great trails, but i like the rocks out west @ Trees ranch, and Katemcy..but i do go to gilmer about 1 or 2 times a year.  As far as my suspension goes, I run long travel all poop springs up front w/a drop hanger kit, and ling travel Bil 5150's woth AOR hoops. Rear is 63 chevvys on custom slider perches, dual shackle set up and long travel Bills as well. It rides nice and soft, plus by using hte chevy rears, I can haul stuff w/out the springs saggin..Here are some pics
