Hey Glen, just got the truck back going.  I did not quite understand what you ment by the preload of 10lbs so I went with another members advice arround 150 ft lbs.  I knew that the preload was like 7.5 to 10 lbs between the backlash, but I meant the accual pinion nut itself.  Sorry my bad for the lack of info.  Anyhow, truck works great again and its ready to get VERY DIRTY!!!!!!!    See ya Hack

hey swampy,  its starting to sound like a real offroad machine,  wish i could have made it down there    oh man somebody pass the prozac    i went muddin here yesterday, just a few miles up the road a buddy of mine needed a way across his field, he couldnt carry all his stuff on his quad,  and his little kawasaki mule had a bad rearend,  so i took him thru in style 1st gear highrange pedal to the floor slingin mud and grass , i think i got some on the moon

If I can get my hands on a 3.4 for cheap Ill do it. Im just tired of having to fix crap   I saw a 3.0 V6 on ebay for 700 so if i can get a 3.0 for that cheap Ill just do that...that however would be my second choice becaues I can get a 3.0 Master Rebuild kit for like 300...I would need to find someone to rebuild it but I just want back all my 6 cyls with my whopping 150 ponies ( )

dont buy a $700 used motor       i'll check with my junkyard guys and find some junk heads for rebuilding,   we can have your block bored at my guys shop for $100 if it needs it
