NEW RIG http://board.marlincrawler.com/index.php?topic=89681.new#new

My first yota was a 1985 carbed extra cab. I got it mostly stock on 36" tsl's that didnt fit at all. I built that truck, kept yota axles, upgraded shafts, birfs, gears, lockers, suspension. Only thing it was missing was dual cases. Well I got rid of that truck for WAY to cheap, but I picked up a 1986 4runner. Ran effin great! Had an IFS lift and 33s. No gears, no lockers, no bumpers etc. I put gears, lockers, 35's, winch plate and 8000lbs winch, sliders, rear tube bumper, rock lights. Everything on that was there besides a solid axle and dual cases. I took that thing to rubicon. Didnt do well, I missed having a truck. So someone on the board messaged me asking if I wanted to trade my 4runner for his 3rd gen extra cab. Ya that sounds great. Little did I know, the motor was completely fagged off, the truck was a 3.0 and had been converted to 22re, ghetto. I got the truck home and started working on it. I started with the rear first. I set a t100 axle with chevy springs, no block and a 6" shackle. Then moved to the bed bob, took 12" out. I then cut the IFS off. Hung a Dana 44 with 3rd gen RUF, 14" shocks, hi steer etc, got finished with that and moved on to the motor. I had the head rebuilt thinking that was the issue. Turned out the motor was toast. After a .40 over bore and all new parts the motor is fixed and in the truck. This truck I had been building for the past year was a pain but fun just like any other build. I had to get rid of the truck due to a run in with the law and a big expensive ticket. The kid I sold it to was making payments and got into financial trouble and couldnt pay the truck off. He called and asked if I wanted it back. So The truck I built came back to me, now I get to finish it and wheel it. Here is the build list and specs to the truck.

On my old dodge I had 37" tsl's and when I put 38" toyos on it it was incredable
atleast 3x the traction on pavement
twice the traction in dirt
I even think they did better in the snow, neither aired down
Mud seemed about the same tsl's might of been a hair better

Im a huge fan of the toyos, they need to make them in 42's dammit

yota_krawler

hell ya they do!!!!! they make a 40x13.50x17 or 40x14.50x17 sticky, i dont remember the width. but i saw them on pirate board. HELLA expensive!!!

the tires were used and they still eanted 3000 for rims and tires
