Sir, you are a dirty liar.  Lol.   I guess since you told me yours was ready to wheel, I guess mine now has a super charger, one tons and duals.

Ive been doing some research on pirate etc. I need to build my d44.
I'm concerned on the hubs, 19 spline stub shafts, u-joints, and diff cover.

So I want:
•4340 30 spline drive flanges
•duchman 30 spline 4340 stub shafts
•300m longfield u-joints
•a 3/16 diff cover

Then I need new gears, and a spartan locker. I want to cryo dip the gears and the locker is a cromoly version of the lockrite.

Then it should hold up to yota power and 39 maddogs :crossed:
But that's a running total of 1560.00 not including tax and shipping for parts.

No I don't need a dana60. I then would need a motor, 23 spline cases, rear axle and new rims. That a lot more than 1600.00 bucks.

86bobbedtoy

22re is as simple as they come!
I think after all that it will hold up just fine

he!l I ran 42s on stock toy shafts and welded rear LS front
it was just a matter of time, but they didnt fail me
you will be ok

oh and the pic mob is about to form...

IronClad

unless you are going to do some serrious hardcore wheelin you really dont need all that BS. if anything just get a set of nice chromos and a set of warn hubs. I put my 10bolt through absolute hell for 6 years and i only broke 1 stub ( same as 44) and a small handfull of inner shafts on 40" boggers.  That is with a welded diff even. Besides with how much you wheel and play musical trucks i wouldnt be worried about it anyway

yota_krawler

Hey now, I'm keepin it. I get mixed oppinions. flopp d44s they are weak, or run it, it will be fine. If I go tons i would want a 3.4 that's why I said motor

3.4 is great and all but 60/70 with 6.17's and you wouldnt need it. So many stupid misconceptions with 1tons and weight and needing this and that. 44's are weak yes with big tires. But many get by just fine with them. You dont need to go through your cases and buy a new motor and all that bull crap just because of 'tons.  just actually GEAR THE DAMN AXLES and your cases will be fine.  The axles really arent as heavy as they are made out to be.  I was able to move my 60 front around on the floor by myself without trouble. and just needed help to get it up on my tall frame stands

I know what you mean matt. I'm keepin my :pokinit: light weight because I have a 22re. If I had a 3.4 hell yes I would go tons from the start. Actually have power and didn't have to worry about breaking. But seeing as how Cali sucks and smog is a pregnant dog on motor swaps I'm not gonna do it. If I end up breaking my :pokinit: all the time then I'll go back to ifs, 33s, welded diffs front and rear lol

I have 3 3.73 carriers and want to go to 5.38. I need a 3.93 carrier for the gears. I could buy a new one from randys but he wants 73 bucks... Kinda rediculous. So if anyone knows where I can get one or get an arb for stupid cheap let me know.

All right, I'll take you up on that.

And this is only my third yota. 85 came with solid axle, 86 runner i just put gears in and 35s, this on I have done everything to. But my kid won't fit in the back till she is in a booster. That's why I was gonna trade but I don't want to have to start over.
