Hybrid Transmission Project! need help please
« on: Jun 08, 2009, 05:30:17 PM »
OK so here is whats going on. i have a 93 Toyota pickup 4x4 with a 22re and a w56, we all know w56 are crap if you beat on them, as mine is in need of a rebuild i am going a new route and i have done a bit of research and have decided for the cost effectiveness and options to do a R-series/AX-15/Dana300 hybrid trans mission set up.i am going to use a R-151F bell housing with a AX-15 transmission and a Dana-300 transfer case. so i know i need a R151f bell housing but my question is what input shaft do i need to work using that combination, the R-151f input shaft or the R-150f input shaft?

The turbo input will definitely work. The early model r150 from a 3.0 truck should work and would be cheaper. The later model R150 from a 3.4 vehicle is a little longer and probably will not work.

u need to use one that uses the same gear count on the other side of the input shaft on it, they are not all the same, the r 154 and r 150 are different, your best bet might be to use the compleate r150 tranny and the jeep output shaft and tail housing.
