I just worked on the frame last night a bit. I took 2x2 angle and capped it up to the frame so its the same width and a have my templates made for the fish plates.. I just need to get some cut off wheels it will look pretty much the same as yours. I figure it shouldnt go anywhere because the whole front clip is tubed and tied to the frame sliders cage hanger everything so it should be pretty beef. I didnt reallize how much alike yours it was ha.

i bet you guys want to see a build thread! ahahaha, NOPE! im just playin, i need to gether up all my photos of the truck, an in the mean time i have to put the 60 under the front an re-do the 3 link. i ned to order tube clamps also so i can bolt the fenders on so that way when i run the truck without them i wont have any extra tabs from the fenders

punchyyoter85

so im confused did you get rid of your third gen? and what happend to the first gen? haha you go through trucks like me. where are all you guys at in Oregon? once i get a tow rig and my 85 wheelable we should go wheeling?

Thinking of ways to stretch my frontend now, what size stock slides in the frame when your stretching it?
how far did you take the front out?

Im thinkin I wanna build another third gen.. but i may have worked a deal out with a buddy and just do a cab swap to a single cab third gen and keep my tube work and all my parts as of now its in the air though. I want the runner but im debating because I know the top wont last and I want something sealed.. it would be a money snow rig but were planning a trip to the con and it will be toast by the time i get back.. so thinking ahead lol

cedar i used 2x2 reciever stock. it doesnt slide in perfectly but it slides in tight side to side just not up and down since the frame is rectangular. I just welded all the way around took angle plated it with that and drilled holes plug welded it, I did that so the frame was even with the section i stretched it with if that makes sense and then I was going to fish plate over those with some 3/16ths plate. I stretched this one like 8 inches. my wheelbase  is 114 and stock its 108.. so yeah jud did his almost the same way i think. I dont know how he plated over his for sure but i like how this turned out because its stupid strong since everything is gapless and plated to :pokinit:. I also wanted to build some sort of gussets, supports from the hanger back to the fish plates right where the stock frame meets the extension.

As far as the project goes now im trading the beat  up first gen cab frame and bed with the cage and another 79 first gen cab on a long bed frame for my old third gen cab on a second gen extra cab frame set up for flat belly tubed front clip which i might redo.

I just had a bunch of family :pokinit: go on last night so i moved out of where i was living that had the shop and im getting rid of my tow rig buyin a car so as of now i think when the toyota's finished im going to drive it to the trail. I sold the runner back to the kid i got it from so im just building the third gen with the 4.3 and that set up with toy duals 4.7s and my 60 14 still basically same idea i was going for but with my old cab and a shorter wheel base. I think ill stretch the wheel base its at now a little in the rear so the double bob isnt so wierd looking. I want about a 118 119 whee base i think its at like114 115 now on the frame its on

would 2x3 fit in the frame? i want a stretch  about 3.5" im allready  tubbed my third gen. jutr planning on this and  inboarded rear springs.
did you have to relocate the spring perches tubes forward or did you go to longer springs?
did you also move the stsering box the same distance forward?

Also know of a 22re feul injection setup for my carbed 85?

yeah austen meant im running third gen rears with the factory shackle tubes. I dont know if it will fit im sure it would but i dont know for sure i wanna say that is the outside measurements of stock frame i think its 3x21/2 or something. The third gen rears are 53" long and mine fully compressed are about 54 cause there pretty flat. I though i measured correctly when i did mine but i moved it 3 or so inches further forwards than I wanted I have a pretty lame shackle angle. Those pictures make my approach angle look terrible but i only lost a half inch from the second gen rears i was using. I think my centerpin length to front eye is 19 3/4

yeah i cant justify selling my 60&14 4.3 and everything else i have time and money into and go back to where i started... I mean I want this truck im getting so I have something road worthy for TIME being I don't want that for ever I plan to get a tow rig and trailer my "trailer truck" again its so much easier not worrying about being pulled over breaking all the other things but i know it will be in the future so this will keep me on the trails in time being!

so i still have the 4runner its on the ground now haha my axles tires 4.3 tranny cases light forces and springs are just chillin haha. so everything but a frame and body to build off of. The plan is im gonna get my buddies old 3rd gen std cab and bed with doors doved front and rear. I am planning on using that for body parts and the bed. Im going to try and use my old third gen extra cab for a cab and combine the two on a different frame. If i lose motivation or make some more money i want to buy a running and driving third gen extra cab and just do it once over with all my junk. I didn't get that truck the guy kinda flaked out and bailed. since i've last posted I had a badass sammi buggy that i was going to put my axles under but it was to much money and work for a samurai in my opinion so i sold it to a buddy. and i got a new tow rig so i haven't been working on a new 4wd for a while. I also have been doing a bunch of stuff out of my shop to make some cash. As soon as i get settled into this new job ill have a steady build thread again. I hope to have a completely fresh truck by the fourth of july and have it out a few times before hand for test runs. I am hoping by june 17th at the latest so i can wheel on my birthday.
