Don't think you should cut off the supports without putting something in it place. Without the braces the rollbar  may collapse. It is a little tall, I'd try to cut it down a little.

yea  i thought so too,  so i cut  2 inches off,  im going to leave the legs for now,  but later on i might remove them  since i will have a large U shaped hoop  that hinges  from the brackets  in the floor of the bed  just behind  the wheel wells

i  have  cut  the width by  8 inches,  should finish welding it up this week,  it was just too humid  today


i think  it must have been for a  fullsize  ford  or chevy  :dunno:

Glen, are the roll bars tied or plated to the frame? Are they for show or are you intrigrating some cool tire carrier or tool box?  :confused:

If you plan on hamering on it you had better make it strong. The stock attatchment pioints along with the flimsy stock construction won't hardly handle a load much less be strong enough to pound on. :twocents:

cut 2 inches  of the height now  i think i need to trim the legs BUT  im gonna  put a  1/4 inch plate under the main hoop  and  heat  the legs  and  bend them to fit  the wheel wells

ok,  i didnt like the rollbar,  so i ditched it,  its  forsale if  anyone wants it


i scored some 1 1/2 inch square tube with .250 wall  so im gonna maybe build  a roll bar from that  and  weld it directly to the frame
