why would you do a dual tranny setup? is it actually in your truck? and how does that work?

It is in the 4runner, but I haven't taken it out on the road yet.
I am doing a ton of mods at the moment, so it will be a little while.

some 1 needs to do some math how many gears,  lowest gear and highest over drive  ??

well 5 x 5 is 25..and u got 2wd 4wd and 4lo so 25 x 3 is 75 gears....put a duel case on it and get 150 gears!!
if u have 4.10 gears in rear u have a 146.14 crawl ratio...and then a .72 over drive...it could be a lil bit different depending on wat trans u have..i  figured it might be a w56 so thats the ratios i used

the one thing most people dont understand about dual transmissions.... for one, reverse is lower than 1st (   3.954 first gear, vs 4.091 reverse in w56)

and reverse reverse is a forward gear...

so dual transmissions, stock case, 4.10's is a 156.37 ratio.... not much a diff but hay.. lol

nah there not terribly hard. just use tape to get ur shape and how much u want to cut out. be sure to have alot of cut off wheels and grinding wheels! lol  and i think they do have kits but i figured that out after i built them..lol
