« on: Jan 20, 2009, 12:05:28 AM »
I have an 84 duals exo 37's w 488s.  I need more power, the motor is a stock 22r. I noticed downey and off road concepts make wiring harness conversions.  Do I need these? [prob make my life easier?]  where is my best bet too find one of these bad boys?  And all said and done how much am i looking at?  Need some help.... I know some of you have done this conversion so help guide me in the right direction!!!

Thankx :inthedark:

Buy it from rancho toyota trucks in california. They will get everything you need. Coming from a guy who bought a 2002 3rz from a taco, try and find a older t-100 3rz. It may have higher miles but the swap will go easier and the emission standards for the older engines is less. I bought a Offroad solutions conversion harness but have been waiting for it for over a month so i cant tell you is its worth it or not. Im sure everyone will tell you to read the 3rz knowledge data base thread but its lacking some info. Good luck

I went with the 2rz in my rig simply because of the price to HP ratio... the local wrecking yard wanted $800 for a 3rz and I bought my 2rz for $450 with only around 10 less HP.... just look around and price it all out.... the wiring is actually quite simple I just chopped up a stock taco harness for my swap and wired it into my 90 truck harness.... check this out too!

Having a 12 second Honda is just like coming out of the closet; You're going to surprise a bunch of people, but in the end you're still gay.
