that is one nice 4runner. wish i can find them that clean up here in CT. all My trucks just rust and i spend more time patche the body then crawlin. i need to take a road trip out there and pick me up a nice one :driving:

Its worth it man, so far Ive owned 6 toyotas, 4 of them runners and not a bit of rust on any of them..

A few updates, I got the shocks on all 4 corners thanks to my new spark machine  then I took it down and had the alignment done/tires balanced. I cant believe how good this thing drives... Ive put about 150 miles on it since the new suspension and it is flawless, much better than before.

Its been a long time since I updated anything, Ive just been drivin the beast... Still dont have a front driveline on it, but havent had it on a trail yet. I have a taco elocker 3rd for the rear, lookin for a hp elocker or taco 3rd for the front. I also aquired some 5.29 yukon v6 gears, Im looking to sell both sets or trade one set for 4.88's. Once I can find a rotated 23 spline adapter for my crawler I am going to put my 21 spline crawl box in. Then im buyin some marfields from sloyfe to avoid breakage. Also, when I wear these 33s out im gonna do some 35 12.50 17 km2's on aluminum wheels(try and keep the rotating weight down). I have the 33's and steel wheels and these fuggers are heavy!! I did get a front end flex picture, maxed out with 10in shocks, gonna have to do some 12's.

I got some new shoes! scored a killer deal on some 35 1250 15 bfg km2's... $150 and my chewed up 33 mtr's for a brand new set mounted and balanced... These tires are awesome, super quiet and they ride really really smooth compared to the mtr's. And they weigh 2lbs more per wheel/tire than the 33 mtr's did. They reall set the truck off, Im diggin em! I need to find a better flex spot...

stock 4.11's for now, shes a daaawg.. Im at 50mph before I can shift into 4th.. 5th is useless. I will have the 4.88's in it as soon as I score another deal on an elocker third.

Definately will man, I can say I love them so far! From what I hear, they are 15k tires on a 1 ton, but they last about the same as the oldschool bfg mt's. I think I will get some good use on my light lil runner.

Update: Today I yanked the dual cases out of my crawler and started the swap on the 4skinner. I have to convert the doubler to top shift, but other than that the swap will be cake. I picked up a chunk of dom .250 wall tube thursday and made up half of my front driveline already, so all I have to do is cut it to length and buzz it together. I have the old rear from my crawler, so cake all around. Im hoping to get the beast all together this week and start on the rear elocker and diff gaurd. I am also repainting the underside of the truck semi gloss black

When I first got it I told everyone I was going to keep it stock with some 32's on it and call it good.. Was great for 6 months or so, then lift, tires, gears, lockers, some engine hop ups, and armor later its more of a beast than I expected my crawler to be.. lol. It drives better than it did stock though, and thats what im going for in the end.. I just like to know I could drive up whatever I want to if I feel like it :)

I had to look back at the beginning of the thread, but I decided to put the dual cases in it after I went to 23 spline in my crawler. The skinner has a new clutch in it, and I dont want to wear it out on all of the trails that I do.. Plus I like to stand outside and watch my truck drive itself, its worth having duals just for that!!

well those sound like good enough resons to me!  just make sure it doesnt get all beat up like your green runner.  this one is too pretty!

Im trying to protect this one as much as possible! Im gonna put my sliders on asap, might not get around to it before the weekend, but soon enough. Were doin a crown king trip this weekend, it should be a much much better ride with 35's, soft springs, and duals.. last time was a bit bumpy being all stock.

I got the duals in it today and took it for a drive, I need to have the rear shaft balanced but it drives as good as before! The shift rails are hitting one another inside of the cases, so they will have to come out again.. When the rear case in in 4hi and I put the front case into low the rear case gets bumped into neutral and the shifter wont move. pain in the anus.. Im going to run it this weekend though, it will be just fine.

Well I spent most of my birthday workin on the skinner. Got off of work early and did'nt feel like studying, so I measured and took my driveline to the shop for a chop/rebuild and balance. After that I put the rear overload leaf on so I dont have sagass this trip out, then replaced the power steering belt I shredded labor day weekend and booted up my 3rd shifter. I helped my buddy fix a vaccum leak on his toy, then my neighbors brought over a cake and beer so progress stopped haha. Im picking up my driveline tomorrow and tieing up a few more loose ends.

Just got back from crown king, awesome trip!!! Me and my buddy Neil were the only ones who went up the back way, the trail is not very tough, 35 miles of dirt starting at 1400ft and ending at 7000. The skinner did the hardest lines without a hiccup. We didnt take any action shots, we were too busy havin fun. Once we hit the pines we got dumped on for about an hour and saw some crazy flash floods and lots of lightning, Then we did a few loop trails in the mud. The km2's are the best tires ever... Then we met up with our friends up top and drank a :pokinit: ton of beer at the firehouse. $12 all you can eat all you can drink bbq... next morning sucked, but was a damn good trip all around!

def was man, thanks! I paid $500 mounted and balanced. By the time I sold my the old mtr's I got for free, I have $150 into em. Im lovin these tires! wayyyyy better than the old mtr's or the mtr's I had on my first 4runner.. I made it up a few things with no lockers that my 1st runner wouldnt make with a rear locker.

It will, I gaurantee... The skinner flexes better than my crawler, it has more weight to make the suspension work. It still has a ways to go too, I still have the stock front shock towers and 10in ranchos. Once I get 12in bilsteins and long brake lines, It should droop out another inch and compress another inch up front. My front brake lines play an e note when this thing is flexed...

I like youre truck, It will be nice havin a 4 door on campin trips! Me and a female is the max in the skinner, anyone else sleeps outside and has to sit on a cooler, or with my dog on their lap...
