so you rotated it 11* or you rotated it so the pinion was at 11*? and was that the angle with your dual cases and everything?

Once the knuckle and pinion where at the right degrees I welded the axle up. Then I cut the knuck on the other side and made sure it was at the same degrees at the other side and welded it up. I did this whole procedure by myself. In the past I had someone help me. The secret was using long pipes as pictured to rotate the knuckles. They only needed to rotated just over an 1/8" to get the correct rotation. Having a good quality angle finder makes a big difference. I also used my digital angle finder to get the knuckles the same degrees.

I just went and reread my post to remember.

How much it was rotated after being cut I don't remember. Basically I figured out how much to rotate it by rotating the axle until my pinion pointed to my transfercase flange. I put the angle finder on the flange and measured. The flange sat at 10 degrees. Then I took the axle form underneath the truck. I just placed it on jackstands. I cut the knuckles one at a time. Doing one knuckle first is good. This way you can hold the other knuckle to turn as pointed out in page one. While on the jackstands I adjusted the rotation of the axle so that the flange was at 10 degrees or at 80 degrees depending on how you have the angle finder on the flange. Basically 10 degrees from vertical. With that set you will be able to see that the caster will be off dramatically. So while holding the pinion at 10 degrees you rotate the one knuckle that is cut to the desireable caster you would like. For me it was 5 degrees. While my pinion was sitting at 10* my caster was at 5*. Them I welded it up. I then just repeated the same to the other knuckle. I highly recommend getting a digital angle finder to set caster as the regular angle finder can be off a degree or two very easily.

Hope this helps.

Some good info for you is on this link.

I also highly recommend looking at the Pirate4x4 FAQ for Toyotas for good info. I did not use a link calculator. I really just followed the guidelines in the link above.

It's Wednesday, where are the pics????:snapshot:

Pics as promised.

I bought a universal exhaust kit from Jegs. It is 2.25" along with a Magnaflow muffler. This was my first attept at doing an exhaust. I was going to have my exhaust guy do it, but he wanted $700.00 to do a "Y" pipe and exhaust from scratch.
