they are staying open, i like the look better,  i have a grinder, chop saw, drill press that works sometimes, and a borrowed welder. . . .  this is as good as it gets.

anyway, frame brackets for the uppers are tacked it and some mock-up uppers were put in there to see how it all fit.  ran into one problem, i cant find any 1.25 fine thread LH nuts for the creeper joints, so i tacked in 4 RH thread ones to see how it all looks.

cut off a little more frame and run those uppers over to  the outside of the frame at the front body mount or just bend the upper.  Check out snohmans truck for an example, and also make sure those links dont hit the motor when you flex

have you taken into account the location of your alternator, it looks to me that your upper link on the drivers side would run right into it at full stuff

his alternator is being moved around. also pat, hes cutting the frame back even more, something like 8" behind the motor mount. it will be an all custom square frame that sits like 4-5" higher than the factory so motor mount problems wont be an issue.

the frame is going to be all custom from the front body mount forward, so there wont be any issues.  also the alternator is going on the other side of the engine and ill be ditching the OBA for a CO2 tank.

again this is 1" higher than the axle will ever go, and everything is tacked and nothing is set into stone.

taking a break from it for a few days, probably have the lowers in by the end of the weekend though.

well, i finally have enough stuff to get some more done on this thing.  changed the lowers to 2.25x.375 DOM that i got for. . .  .FREE hahah 7' for free, and as much more as i want for free!!

also got my LH 1.25-12 nuts, bought the last 8 anywhere i could find them $75 for 8.  such a rip, but whatever.

made some templates for the axle ends of the lower links, and sat under the truck for 2 hours with a tape measure finding out that nothing works and im fawked, but itll be sick when im done.

im going to try and get all the links in for good tomorrow and do a little flex/bind/hit test soon.

with your lowers so much longer than the uppers your pinion angle is going to change a bunch when it droops. Last jeep I did the lowers started out about 10" longer and after flex testing we re-did the lowers to the same length then the pinion would stay pointed at the yoke throughout the range.

my current build has exact same length links :)

good luck!

i was thinking, that lower cooling line on the drivers side is gonna be close to the upper link!

kyle,
all but like 2 of your pics totally suck. . .

brad,
im not using that bent tube that goes from the side of the block to down near the bottom of the engine since im going to go with a super short, but thick radiator that sits a lot higher up than the original rad does.

also the uppers ended up being 34.5" and the lowers 50" that makes the uppers about 70% of the lowers. im not worried about the pinion moving that much with the angle and the separation i have.

here are kyles SICK pics from friday.  last night i got the drivers side lower frame mount all braced up against the frame, ill get to the pass side sometime this week, but right now im in the middle of installing a invisible fence for Missy since she keeps killing the neighbors ginni henns.

big update, but jerk has my camera because he needed to take 5000 pics of his truck last weekend (let him borrow the iroks, truck looked fully bad ass), so i dont have any pics yet.

new frame is in, braced and looking bass ASS for sure, working on motor mounts, theyre going to turn out sick as flopp, winch plate (5/16 plate 27x10 for free) is going in tomorrow after i get some more wire.  frame is fully welded, lower link frame mounts are fully welded, uppers are well on theyre way, but they wire issue. . . .

planning on fully welding everything tomorrow and finishing motor mounts.  also would like to get the bumps in and roll it out of the garage to clean everything.  also picked up a new radiator that is super short, but 4 cores thick.  hmmmmmm, think thats is for now, ill get some pics tomorrow.
