with a job possibly on the horizon

i'm starting to plan my '79 build up. what i'd like is a very capable truck that'll serve as a part time DD(fishing trips, camping, towing my 13' boat etc). i'm thinking 4.88 gears and 34x10.5 swamper LTBs which from what i hear run a little small. i have the 31" LTBs and i LOVE them! for a truck that sees as much pavement time as mine, i have about 5000 miles on them and the only noticeable tread wear is the little "swamper" text on the outer lugs that's kinda worn in the center(too much pressure

). the tires actually handle better than my old radials on just about any surface and are quieter than the buckshots the truck came with

anyhow, i'm thinking that something in the 3-4" range would be where i'd want to go. i know these tires would fit with just a bunch of fender cutting, but i'm dead set on going to crossover steering so i figure i'm going to need some lift to clear the drag link. marlin's springs going to be a good bet or are they going to give me a lot more lift than i need?
