the new pyle 2nd gen
« on: Apr 19, 2009, 06:49:35 PM »
well i figure sense ive been spending some time here again id start a build thread for the new rig. i scrapped out my old 1st gen about a year ago now and i just resently started building this second gen. the axles and suspension are the same stuff that was in the old rig im running a 22r it will eather be propane or efi im not sure yet i have both setups laying around im leaning towards the propane because its simpler. behind the 22r is a w56 and a toy/dana 300 doubler with the AA adapter all tucked up with a flat belly and a 5/8 thick UHMW skid plate the rocker panels got cut out in favor of a piece of 2x4x.180 rect tube. im currently working on the cage right now its all 1 3/4 .120 wall hrew and the interior part for seat mounts will be 1 1/4x.120 the rear bed section will be skinned with aluminum bed sides painted to match the rest of the truck. right now the belly clearance is 29" with 39.5's i plan on lowering it down into the 24-26" range. if theres any more info that you guys want to know that im leaving out just ask. ill try to keep this thread updated as i make progress. im shooting for having it done by mid to late may.

Fine here's some update pics lol

I don't have any pics of it with the bedsides on it yet. It's getting closer but there's still allot of loose ends to tie up before it hits the trails maybe sometime next month if I find some motivation

Nope it's a toy tranny mated to a toy crawl box with a Dana 300 behind that. Because the Dana 300 is an offset external linkage setup the twinsticks on the d300 sit right next to the crawl box shifter

thanks man that was the plan I didn't have :pokinit: for room in the old wheeler. It looks allot better with the bed sides on but I wont bother taking any pics till I've laid down some paint.

Oh thats DOPE!!!

Whats your gearing?

it's just dual 2.28:1 I could run a 4:1 gearset in the Dana 300 or a 4.7:1 in the toy case but dual 2.28's suit my driving stile better.

And thanks for the Complements
