with a job possibly on the horizon :hahaha: i'm starting to plan my '79 build up.  what i'd like is a very capable truck that'll serve as a part time DD(fishing trips, camping, towing my 13' boat etc).  i'm thinking 4.88 gears and 34x10.5 swamper LTBs which from what i hear run a little small.  i have the 31" LTBs and i LOVE them!  for a truck that sees as much pavement time as mine, i have about 5000 miles on them and the only noticeable tread wear is the little "swamper" text on the outer lugs that's kinda worn in the center(too much pressure :slap: ).  the tires actually handle better than my old radials on just about any surface and are quieter than the buckshots the truck came with :shocking:

anyhow, i'm thinking that something in the 3-4" range would be where i'd want to go.  i know these tires would fit with just a bunch of fender cutting, but i'm dead set on going to crossover steering so i figure i'm going to need some lift to clear the drag link.  marlin's springs going to be a good bet or are they going to give me a lot more lift than i need?
