Is it cranking over, and not firing?  or is it just dead?

Did you check the ign. fuses in the kickpanel, and the fuses under the hood?

well if it wont start, thats the next step, bonfire.... yes it turns over, but no fire. i pulled in the garage to hook up a winch, i hooked it up to maKE SURE IT WORKED and then went to move the runner, and nothing. first it wouldnt turn over, so took the starter off and tested it it was fine, so i put it back on and it turned over, but no spark, im lost.

thats odd.  Did you check the fuses in both locations I mentioned?  Is it getting fuel?  The only thing I can think if you answer yes to both is that the ignitor is bad.  :headscratch:  which hooking a winch up shouldn't have affected.

is your coil wire hot?  going to the distributor?  What exactly did you do when you connected the winch?  did you remove anything, or did you just hook it to the battery?

immediately after puting on the winch i had a problem with the starter not cranking so i pull started the runner and drove it to the shop and took it off. tested it on bthe bench and worked fine so i put it back on and nothing.switched batterys cause ive had that happen before with a shorted battery and still nothing, so i put the old battery back in it and it cranked over but no spark, and thats where im at now. ive got an extra post on both battery cables and i hooked the winch leads to those after unhooking them from the battery. both of the posts on the coil itself are gettin power, only 1 of the terminals in the plug that goes to the ignitor and coil is hot, im not sure if theres supposed to more or what. its hot with the ignition on and nothing changes when trying to start.

When its cranking over, does it seem sluggish?  Have you tried push starting it again?  It really seems to me as if you have a starter and or battery issue.  Everything else sounds fine.  Follow your battery cables, see if they're crimped, torn, loose, etc.  Try a different starter too.  I've tested a starter on three different bench testers, and got 3 different results, including one bad result (known good starter) so I dont' trust the bench testers all that much.

test the fuel pump, and check all your fuses again.  since you say that, I'm betting you blew one at some point.  It had to have happened when you swapped batteries, or pulled the starter, because you said you drove it to the shop, after push starting it.

It's going to be in that area around the glove box.
