damn truck wont fire

went to go to work today tried to start her and all she did was crank over and over. my first thought was ah shoot fuel pump, but then i herd it running. so i checked the coil got one spark out of it and that was it. reconected it then pulled a sparkplug wire off put a plug in it and checked it, and again just one spark right off the bat then thothing. oh yea its a 90 4runner with a 3.0. please help its my daily driver

Dr.Maxwe001 – well i have a 15 gal compressor now and if I gett he 60  and then use the 15 as a reserve that wil give me 75 gal  thats close to 80 isnt it ?

I went through hell trying to solve my ignition problem (22R) acted very similar to what you describe turned out to be the signal generator in the distributor. just another idea :beer:

well start at the cheapest part first is what i was always told. so took the cap and rotor off they were pretty dirty, whent to kragen got a new ones, installed, truck fired rite up. now lets just hope that was the problem.

well start at the cheapest part first is what i was always told.

Trouble shoot and find an actual problem before wasting money is what I was.  Much better to have insight into how everything works later on than just be a parts changer  ;)

well i trouble shot the coil and that wasnt it but so the cap and rotor was needed anyhow so i changed them and just lucked out i guess

OK new problem now. after a couple of days, now its hard to start and is lacking allot of power, maybe the cat is plugged? would it throw a coed? the cat is stinking a little more then normal.

does it glow red hot if so its plugged, is there any way you can unbolt your cat and run it for a short time to see if it makes a difference ? hope you fix it bud

well cant tell if it is glowing. the truck also likes to idle low lately and even dies sometimes at stop lights if i just roll up to them in neutral
