Volunteer lost his house?  Hmmm.  I have minimal funds, but maybe we should help out?  Where are the rich guys here?

Buying  a new house might be a long shot, but we can do something.  I am in Cali December and I can build.  Can I help this guy?

Who knows how to set this up?

There are some things in the works and I will post as soon as I know more.  I know him well enough to know he has only one priority right now, to save as many other peoples houses as they can.  His mom lived next door and I heard she lost her house, too.

It is completely secondary, but he had some really neat older cars and trucks that are surely lost, as well as a trailblazer I've been trying to talk him out of for 15 years.

Tuolumne County, CA - The Incident Command reports it is feeling confident. The fire has grown just slightly to 255,858 acres or 400 square miles and is still 80% contained. The number of firefighters is down to 2,572. The cost is now $107 million.

Incident Command Spokesperson Richard Hadley says, "I think you will see the containment go up in the next several days. We're getting closer to putting this one to bed. So we're feeling really confident. "

I guarantee their insurance will help take care of their homes.  It just won't help cover memories and personal items.

Yeah it sucks to loose your everything, except the clothes on your back.  But people are alive, and that's the most important thing.

Speaking of fires.... We saw one that someone left burning at MCR   Whatever jackass that camped here left their fire burning and took off. The rig in front of us was kind enough to put the fire out.

This is the campsite, photo was taken after the fire was put out.

Thank you Tommy, you should start a new marketing campaign with the Forest Service to encourage people to pee on campfires.

Here are some pictures and video I took when I was at the Rim fire.

Incident Command Post Cherry Lake Rd. The fire came towards camp at least 5 times. I was within 100 yard of the fire.

These where taken at the Pine Mountain Lake airport.

That third pic at the camp is scary!  I've been in a brush fire and it was scary.  Nothing, nothing even close to that.  Wow.  Those firefighters have got real courage.

at least they charged someone, but we all know he will never be able to repay the amount of loss that was endured by the families that lost homes or for the cost of fighting the 3rd largest forest fire in the state of Cali.

just a little update for ya all on this fire from a year ago, as you can see by previous post by mountainguyed67 that they have charged someone in the fire and here are some pictures to make you think   :yikes:

First picture you can see logs stacked on the left side of the picture next to the fire on the log deck of Sierra Pacific Industries, our local and only Sawmill in the area, the logs are stacked in rows awaiting production to the Sawmill, Sugar Pine, Ponderosa Pine, Doug Fir, White Fir and Cedar logs are cut here, everything but the Cedar is put under sprinklers to keep the wet and slow down the drying and rot process, the Cedar is set aside because if the bark gets wet it is to hard to remove with the Debarker, the loggers brought in Cedar logs from the Rim Fire and this happened . . . . on July 9th almost 1 year later . . .  :beerchug:
