I don't believe I have seen a similar thread, so...

Who is the most famous person you have met?

When I was a kid I met Marcus Allen and O.J. Simpson at a breakfast diner in California.  Marcus was friendly, but O.J. was a bit of a jerk (shocker).

Also, as a kid, I had the opportunity to meet James Irwin from Apollo 15 and is one of only 12 people to every walk on the moon.  I have been watching the series "When We Left Earth" and the show "In The Shadow of the Moon" on the Discovery channel and have again become fascinated with NASA.

I saw George W. Bush at an Air Force Academy graduation, but it was from a long ways away.

I think that's about it for me.

I've met many in the drag racing world, Ed "the ace" McCulloch, John Force, Don "the snake" Prudhome, Tom "the mongoose" McEwen, Kenny Bernstein and Cruz Pendregon to name a few.  Cruz was a puttz but Kenny was the biggest assclown I've ever had the disservice to meet.  I have most of their autographs due to my cousin being a big wig with National Dragster magazine.

I've had the pleasure to meet most of the bigger rock crawling teams.  I have yet to meet anyone that isn't super nice and a pure pleasure to hang out with.  The websters are by far THE COOLEST people I've had the pleasure to hang out with for any length of time...  Guess it pays to be friends with the guys that own and work at Crawl Mag...

Off of the board I have met Duffil, Prismo and many others that don't frequent this board much any more...

Rocksurfer

Just about everyone in offroad racing, we used to race against them, in fact for a while Brian Stewart (Ivan's son) was a part of our team and we used to test with Cal Wells out at Stoddard Wells and at Devore.

Then on the other side my father was a Tennis pro and I've pretty much met most of those people too, and since he was an instructor for many years in Beverly Hills/Bel Air I've met a lot of stars.

Then since I did some Limo/security work I've met a lot of stars that way too. We also did a lot of work for basketball and I've transported team members and player reps. for both LA teams, Sacramento, and Golden State. I've been to the Mansion and met the girls I've seen Heff but never met him. My brother dated a Playmate Of The Year for years before and during her reign.

When I worked for AAA and National Auto Clubs in the Bel Air/Beverly Hills/Malibu I would run into them on a daily basis.

When I worked for LAPD downtown we'd be involved with them too, during that stint I even met Mark Furhman, and Christopher Darden before O.J. when Furhman was doing a 20/20 report on car theft in which I drove a towtruck in with a stolen car on it (all staged of course), and I was set to testify on a case that Darden was handling. I've met the real chief of LA, Daryl Gates.

Like I said as a child from my dad I ended up meeting a lot of stars on the courts and never even realized it and in some instances have even been in their homes not knowing who they were. About the best one I can think of was I had a friend in Pacific Palisades that I used to hang out with and one day we were at his friends house swimming and his mom was watching us swim turns out his mom is Rachel Welch, but I was just a kid and she was just another mom.

My mother was a nurse at St. John's hospital and she had a side job caring for James Garner's mother. I had a van and at one time Mr. Garner had accidentally run over one of his white German Sheppard's leg so I was enlisted to cart the dog to the set since the dog always went with him. Met a bunch of people that way.

I also majored in Media in school so I sat on a bunch of sets watching how it's done and went to school with kids that are current stars and were in those classes with me.

I think this may be why I see them as who they really are, just people like you and I. They take a crap just like you and I too, they just have a better toilet. I don't get excited or even care that they are around me, I think it kinda freaks them out that I may acknowledge them but don't go all goo goo over seeing them. In fact I think that this may be the reason I don't watch movies that much since I'm not all crazy to see my favorite stars since I don't concider them anything other than another person just like me.

In Florida a couple of years back I get on the Monorail at O-Dark-Thirty on my way to D-World and there is another family already on it. It was Danny Glover! I just smiled at him and he smiled back, I didn't want to bug him for anything since he was obviously on vacation with his family, but it was cool to see a celeb out in the real world. :yesnod:
