pink stripes? I didnt notice that... Jen and I went up to philbrook last night. There is alot more snow than I thought, even at philbrook. I guess if a fathers day trip happens I wont be needing half doors but I do want to start on them.

The half doors and the dovetail have been two of the best upgrades I have done in a long time. So much visibility gained with both of those. Except for the custom body work by the rocks

Not the greatest design, but they are very functional and they were free so you cant beat that
imo they look good with semi flat black and lots of stickers for more horse power   :shocking:

"Later, I learned that even though I engage 4WD my hubs are not automatically locking? Something about manual locking hubs I think. What's manual mean? I need to read a manual to lock them? lol  So I found these neat autolocking hubs and installed them. Sometimes they dont stay locked while I am backing up, but that's fine because I dont have a backup camera to see where Im going (like our RV) so I just simply dont ever back up"- BigMike

These are my one day, rushed attempt at half doors. They work great though on the road and on the trail. I am very happy with them. Going to touch them up and cut the interior trim to match and add a cup holder eventually.

Yeah originally I wanted to spend a good long while making some, might do that eventually. I just needed some doors for the trip, plus there are a lot of tweakers in my town so I rarely roll with half doors and the top of anyway. I figured there wasnt much point in spending days to make really nice doors that are only going to go on the runner 1 or 2 weeks out of a year. Eventually I would like to make some nice ones and get them painted to match and make them in a similar manner to the ones Bigbs84 made. Those are really nice. For now though, they work, and if I flopp em up, I only have a day into em anyway :gap:

Yeah for the center I just went to the local hardware store and bought $2.95 worth of 2x4, which got me 10 feet. I plan to cut the interior trim pieces to match the half doors and then cover the wood up with the original interior trim.

i got some doors for free a long time ago and did most of the work on 1 door, then got bored of it and moved onto other projects. this is how it looks right now...still gotta grind down the welds in some spots. i cut the door apart and made a frame for the arm rest part of the door out of like 3/4" and 1" square metal and welded it all up and then welded a piece of body metal (the red part) onto the arm rest part so it will all be one thing when its finished up.  no seams anywhere. i set it up so the door will lock and there is no little tab to pull to unlock it. you could hop in the truck with the half door locked (duh) but you wouldnt be able to open it unless you have the key. theres only gonna be a door handle on the inside of the door, and i may fill them with expanding foam but i dunno about that yet :blah:
