Yes they will. I used 3rd gen reg cab doors on my old X-cab.

I don't mean to hijack the thread but what do you guys prefer half doors or tube doors.

I prefer half doors because they keep most mud/dirt/grit out of the cab, where as if you had fully open tube doors stuff is gonna fly into the cab pretty quick. I also like the look of half doors better but thats just my opinion.

I agree, I dont like mud but sometimes its unavoidable. However I wouldnt mind trying out some tube doors.

I'm actually going to make a set of tube doors this summer to add to the mix. I like my full doors for winter obivously. I dig the half doors for wheeling with the wife and kiddo. But i'd love a set of tube doors for Rubicon, fordyce and other trails that I will trailer my rig too.

Picked up some spare doors and a thought occurred to me: How important is retaining the window frame? I figure if the lower portion is boxed with 1x1 it should be sturdy enough to support its own weight... which isn't much since it's an empty half door: no speaker, window etc.

Plus it'll only get 12 ounces heavier from time to time...  :beerchug:

I think most people retain the frame for aesthetic reasons. I removed the door frame from mine and they seem plenty rigid and sturdy. Just preference.

Lot of people get rid of it, I think they look better if you keep it but that is just my   :twocents:

Goldrush

ya you can do either, i got rid of mine, and they are really rigid. and i used 16g sheet metal, so its pretty much personal preference.

Has anyone used their 1/2 doors as storage? I'm making some and want to put ammo cans or something in them...any pros or cons you guys can think of?
If you have to go "balls deep" you aren't doing it righ

Goldrush

hmm good thought. i was thinking of cutting an oval on the inside of my doors. and putting an ammo can sounds like a good idea actually..

alright guys started my half doors but now im trying to figure out how when i put the old doors back on (being power everything). I saw somewhere on marlin these metal tabs that go inbetween the doors and only touch when the door is shut but now i cant find where i saw those, basically gets rid of any wires in between the doors real clean looking, any idea where i can find them?

and i think the ammo can is a cool idea never thought of that
