:dunno: works fine for me too ???

i wonder if a powerstroke starter would fit,  this guy  on the "binder" board  says to use the solinoid  off a ford starter

QuoteFord Solenoid confirmed
I just wanted you all to know that a Ford Solenoid used on a 1990 7.3 powerstroke with the Hitachi starter works perfectly. The part # is Standard ignition product # SS 331. My cost was $36.00.

AS reported it is a little longer. Also what I did was in the piece that moves in and out there is a rectangle cut in the metal . It fits over the arm on the starter. You need to take a rat tale file and enlarge it slightly for proper fit..

What I liked about this was now you have a part # for a solenoid that most auto places will stock. My fear with the Nissan is being stuck somewhere remote where parts are not obtainable. In the link I have included you will also notice in the photos I have a hydroboost setup and a GM 120 amp alternator. Again parts easily obtainable.

Next week I will detail the Overdrive unit I just installed and how it shifts via an air cylinder. Very cool!

If that situation arises I plan to be prepared, but don't plan to go looking for those situations.

If we need an adrenlin kicking ride we can do it in the Mammoth.
I'm sure we'll find interesting 'off the beaten track' things to do in the Wagon, like side trips along Route 66. In fact I have a whole book full of interesting US road trips that we wouldn't do with the Mammoth and LBC.
That is what I am looking foward to.

It seems Crawler Dan might have a line on parts for the engine

OK Mark started doing some more work before he got pulled off on a job...

He removed the box that would be under the seats so he could work on getting the engine in.

Thats the box on top of the hood in the back of the wagon. Man this thing has a lot of room!

Trying to get the engine positioned..

He's going to look at ordering the floor panels that go in that area. They're not very expensive.
