Willy Mammoth

Hmmm, There is this monstrous thing in my garage that is getting in the way. Turns out it is a Willy's wagon. I forgot all about it sitting out there , but now it's time to do something with it so I can at least get out of the way.

I had all the parts sitting here waiting to go together for the D44's and just didn't feel right about them. I have decided to scrap the D44'd and go with Toyota stuff once again.

I need some info on the width of the V6 rearends and what the electric lockers came in. I have a front housing and high steer, but lack all the rest.

BTW, I have all the D44 Scout stuff available if anybody wants to mess with it.

i was just thinking that it would be well within your rhelm to widen your front and use bobbys custom inners. then use the full width t -100 rear. that or you could throw down some coin on a diamond housing custom width. i dont see why you couldnt build your own custom front axle but it would be very time consuming, the diamonds are really more cost effective if you consider your time involved to fab it.

What about some of the Landcruiser axles from a FJ60/80?  Disc brakes, e-locker, and floater rear axle!  That's my vote.

MMMM...time to get this one started Mark?  Good, just as I am ready to move to a new place with more space.  I am getting the bug to hit mine again.  Totally new direction...Chop the top off and truggy it!  Muahahaha.  I don't think I actually wheel, I just change the truck over and over and over.
IFS is best kept at ambient temperature in a pile of scrap in the backyard.  When kept under a functioning vehicle, it tends to greatly diminish said vehicle's offroad ability.     -reklund5

Just read all this thread and the one that preceded it (Not again...)

Must say I've always been impressed with your work, and I'm glad you're building another wagon with a "bolt-in" diesel. Last engine you had to do some modding, and that still was sweet. Looks like you'll need all the time you can elsewhere.

Glad to hear you're sticking with Toyota drivetrain.

I'd recommend a T100 rear, or maybe a Tundra rear. Maybe the FZJ80 e-locker 9.5" would fit in those? I dunno... For front, I think the FZJ 80 front would be sweet, but they're more "difficult" to get to work with leaves. With your skills, though, that shouldn't be a problem.

And so it begins... Eventually you'll overbuild this into even more of an offroader than the Mammoth if you're not careful  :slap:
