taht thing already sits way tall. what happens when its on the WM's 38's?
U saying there old Dan......
It has had a spring over done giving about 5'' ov lift. I need to use the longer Scout sprimgs and put the axles back over the springs to lower it back down. Then I think it will get 35's at the largest for tires. Also there is no heavy diesel engine in it or anything else at the moment so it will come down a bit when it has all the weight in it.
Mabye I'm getting to far ahead of ya with all the little detail stuff. Heck you just picked it up like yesterday.
i hope my wife and i are half as cool as you guys are in a few years. also, that wagon is tall!! on teeny tires its as tall as willy!!
no, im saying that i truly admire the relationship that mark and diane have, and that i hope in the coming years to learn much from them
Using the scout axles in a spring under configuration would make them much more desirable. I automatically assumed youd run spring over as so many people do. How do you plan to add caster (or is it camber) to the front housing. Back when I was researching using the scout axles I had I ran accross some balljoint bung/shim type things that pressed into the Cs. I suppose rotating the C's won't be too much trouble for you either, and you will be able to get the pinion angle you desire.Mabye I'm getting to far ahead of ya with all the little detail stuff. So when will there be a offical williy wagon biuld thread
As soon as they start buliding it...
You're looking at it.They removed the back tires, build has begun.
Took the engine and trans out too, looks like a build to me.
They've only taken stuff out/off. You have to start putting stuff back on before it's an actual build...
I disagree.
You have to take stuff off to put stuff on OK... how about if we paint brown and call it Number 2? (that was Mark's joke, not mine)

The Scout had spring under, so everything should work out pretty well.
Scout dana 44s are factory equiped with 0* caster....thats why I asked. In my opinion thats not enough for a road driven rig, espically one with tires larger that the stock equipped 235s. I do rember when I was younger, a cousin of mine had pristine 79 model and even it would wonder back and forth a little. Here is a link to the scout based site where I origonally researched the scout axled I was one gonna use.Caster> http://www.binderbulletin.org/forums/faq.php?faq=ihcfaq_steering_category#faq_ihcfaq_casterMain page> http://www.binderbulletin.org/?
