So how are you building the suspension with it being in the garage? Time to turn the rear access in to a drive through garage. :twocents: :yesnod:

It has had a spring over done giving about 5'' ov lift. I need to use the longer Scout sprimgs and put the axles back over the springs to lower it back down. Then I think it will get 35's at the largest for tires.

Also there is no heavy diesel engine in it or anything else at the moment so it will come down a bit when it has all the weight in it.

Using the scout axles in a spring under configuration would make them much more desirable. I automatically assumed youd run spring over as so many people do. How do you plan to add caster (or is it camber) to the front housing. Back when I was researching using the scout axles I had I ran accross some balljoint bung/shim type things that pressed into the Cs. I suppose rotating the C's won't be too much trouble for you either, and you will be able to get the pinion angle you desire.

 the only way we could get it in the garage was to take those tires off. I was really surprised but it is sitting pretty high too.

  I'm going to clean the engine next weekend, but I don't know how much more we'll get into it right now.
He has to get on the exo-cage for the Mammoth for the Tellico weekend (bet he's sorry he trashed the old one now) and he does still have to finish the small bathroom.
Once that is done the house projects, save for finishing touches, it good enough for now.

I say call it the Shaggin Wagon and paint it Kawisaki Green. Mark have you looked at a TD42 Nissan diesel engine?  I have one in my Patrol and I love the thing loads of power. The transmission and t-case that is behind them is a monster and you can get crawler gears for the t-case too... Call your buds in Aussie land..  it would be a sweet fit in that truck about the same size as the 250 Chevy you pulled out of it.. may be a little smaller

Scout dana 44s are factory equiped with 0* caster....thats why I asked. In my opinion thats not enough for a road driven rig, espically one with tires larger that the stock equipped 235s. I do rember when I was younger, a cousin of mine had pristine 79 model and even it would wonder back and forth a little.

Here is a link to the scout based site where I origonally researched the scout axled I was one gonna use.

That's probably why he put it on the front instead of the rear, and you also have better control that way. The only problem was he needed more ballast in her rear I mean the rear of the lawnmower. :gap:
