Well....I'm really not "into" this kinda stuff, but for some reason I seem to be some sort of magnet for it.  I have lots of stories I could tell but one that really can't be denied.

When Brian and I first started dating, he was big into BMX.  We went to his one friends house who had a big half pipe built in his back yard.  The kid lived in a really huge old farm house, and his parents weren't home.  I new nothing about the kid or the family or house, etc.  I was the only chick there, just hanging out in a lawn chair watchin like 25 guys ride this half pipe.  So anyway I had to pee, so Brian took me to the kid whose house it was and he gave me the long and complicated directions to get to the bathroom, and so on my journey I went.  I had to go through like 3 different rooms, then up the stairs, around the corner and to the other end of the hall.  So I'm sittin there doing my thing and all of a sudden I hear this little girl yell "HEY GRANDPA!!!"   It wasn't scary at all....and I was like :pokinit:...this kid's mom just came home with the grandkid or something and now I gotta go down there and she's gonna be like "who the heck are you and what were you doing upstairs?"  So I'm all prepared to be nice and polite when I meet these people....well I go to head downstairs not a minute after I heard this little girl yell...and I can't help but notice the house is still all dark and silent like it was when I came in.  Definitely not a person in sight.  So the closer I get to the door to outside, the more creeped out I'm getting.  I finally get to the last door and IT WOULDN'T OPEN.  I finally got it loose and ran outside.  I found the kid whose house it was and asked him if his parents had just been there or ANYONE had just been inside, and he was like "Noooo, why?"  So I told him I definitely heard a little girl yell "HEY GRANDPA" plain as DAY and he got PISSED!!  He started yelling things like "NOT AGAIN! What the HELL?  WHY?"  I had NO idea what to think.  So anyway he finally told us that a 6-year-old girl had died in that house like a LOOOONG time ago.  Apparently it sat vacant for more than 2 years before his family bought it, and they dealt with all kinds of things since moving in.

So anyway, like I said, it wasn't scary because I definitely thought it was a cute little girl, she sounded totally normal, just like a happy little girl looking for her grandpa.  Oh and by the way....the house is in the middle of a HUGE field....definitely no neighbors close enough for me to have even heard some random little girl.  We confirmed there were definitely no little girls anywhere near the house that night.

The family moved out of the house not too long after that, before it was even sold.

OK here's another one but I know a lot of people will probably dismiss it.  Guess you had to be there.

My cousin Travis was always a cowboy at heart and when he was 21ish he finally moved to Wyoming to live on an actual ranch and do the rodeo thing.  He was my cousin, but he was also Brian's best friend, in fact Brian was definitely closer to him than I was.

He would always call Brian and tell him how ridiculous the winters were there in Wyoming.  He called the one time telling us about how windy and blizzard-like it was.  Shortly thereafter, for reasons we'll never understand, Travis shot himself.  We brought him home to PA to be buried.  It was March 21st of that year.  Things were still a little bit snowy in PA but you could tell Spring was on its way.  We made it through the funeral that day but didn't stick around afterwards because it was hard.

So anyway, later that night we were on our way home from somewhere (I forget) and we had just decided we were going to go ahead and stop at Travis' grave to have a few minutes of alone time.  Brian wanted to have a final :bandit: with him and say a few words to him.  Well all of a sudden the wind started WHIPPING wildly and it started snowing like MAD....damn near blizzard-like conditions that were totally unexpected.  But Brian wanted to stop anyway, we were already set on it.  Well, we pulled into the cemetary and parked the truck, and the minute we got out and started walking to Travis' grave......the snow stopped and the wind totally died down.  Brian smoked a bit and said his peace to Travis and it was just a feeling...like I said you had to be there.

We walked back to the truck and as soon as we both shut our doors.....you guessed it.  The wind whipped and the snow blew all over again.  It was pretty wild.  You can scrutinize all you want but I know there was a cowboy sitting there on a stone that night, smoking with Brian.  God rest his soul.

Which reminds me.  Alot of you know Brian and I have been going through a lot of trying times lately.  While we were moving, I stumbled upon just a single page of a letter that Travis had written to Brian back in 1999, shortly after Brian's grandfather passed away.  Travis was going on and on about how life can be so tough and he wishes he could be there for Brian to help him through these times and stuff like that.

And at one point in the letter he said something about knowing how hard it is to miss someone so much, and he mentioned an old girlfriend of his, Amber, and said he'd alway love her.  I have no idea why Travis and Amber broke up.  But anyway.....Amber died in a car accident 2 years almost to the day that Travis died....2 weeks before she was due to marry someone else.
RIP Kyle, we love and miss you man.  :smooch:

I didnt believe in ghosts until just a few years ago........

I think of myself as a very rational, scientific-thinking, down to earth person so please dont think I'm crazy... :willynilly: I just have no other expanation for this stuff.....

I have 2 stories...

first, I will share the one about the "nice" ghost that lives in my current house in the attic.....heres a pic

I started coming home from work, pulling into the garage in back and looking up at the attic window and seeing the light on upstairs. I lived by myself then and NEVER went upstairs. The room in the back is accessed by a fake wall and is virtually empty except for a few boxes....the light switch HAS to be flipped UP to turn on. My landlord is in AFRICA for 2 years and NO ONE has keys to the house. One night I went up to flip off the light and I found an old black and white photo from the 20's of a family sitting in front of the house sitting in the middle of the empty room on the wood floor. I picked it up and placed it on the windowsill....... came home the next night and the light was on again...went upstairs and the pic had disappeared.

The ghost is pretty nice.....it likes to unscrew the dining room light and flip it on and off sometimes. Any dogs that come into the house can always sense it...often they will just stand at the bottom of the stairs and watch an invisible figure (sometimes barking)

Hadnt heard much from the ghost until last night when I came home from work, DirtoyGirl was freaking out (it scares her but not me because of my last experience) ....

She had just made the bed and saw this.....a perfect footprint (wide one at that) right in the middle of the bed. I had to take a picture... it was kinda freaky...

Holy carp that's definitely a footprint!  :yikes:   Poor DirToyGirl!

And it's true about animals....and kids.  When Brian's boy was like 3, we were all running around the house....well he went to run out of our bedroom and down the hall...in order to do so you had to pass the bathroom.  Well, he got right in front of the bathroom and happened to look in on his way past.....he about jumped out of his SKIN, high-tailed it back into our bedroom and plastered himself up against the wall!  The poor thing was shaking and he just kept saying "there's a GUY!  there's a GUY!"

We did our best to convince him that there was NOT a guy...although we both always questioned it because we know of 4 people who have died in that house.  One of them being a 35 year old man named Brian who happened to have the very same birthday as my Brian.  haha

Plus I was always SO creeped out when showering there!  I always felt like someone was standing on the other side of the shower curtain.  Sometimes I couldn't even shower, I was that scared.  I eventually had to buy a clear shower curtain and just use it, but even then I would be creeped out when I'd so much as close my eyes to wash out the shampoo.   And I recently realized I've NEVER felt that way when showering anywhere else...even now at Brian's mom's house and she has a dark blue shower curtain you can't begin to see through.  I never get that feeling anymore.

And also, Brian's son eventually stopped sleeping in his bedroom.  He just flatly refused after awhile.  His bedroom is the only room at the back of the house that you have to pass the bathroom to get to.

Here's the thing.... I had just washed that green blanket and put it on the bed less than an hour before DTB got off work.  Shortly after he got home, I went into the bedroom to get something and saw ONE SINGLE footprint (pointing toward the footboard) in the middle of the bed. I asked DTB if he'd been standing on the bed for some reason.  His first response was "What the  $%@*!  are you talking about" and then he pointed out the SINGLE footprint.  The strange thing is that the footprint doesn't even come close to matching either of our foot sizes/widths.  One of the reasons this stuff freaks me out is 'cause I don't really believe in ghosts.   I'm having a tough time explaining this one....    :chicken:

Here's a ghost story for ya.

In one of Oprah Winfrey's talk shows, a survey was conducted among her audience. Since the subject was about ghosts she started asking her audience these survey questions:

Oprah: How many of you have seen a ghost? Please stand up!

Amazingly, about 20 people stood up.

Oprah: Wow , isn't that really phenomenal? And now for the next question- For you guys standing up - how many of you have actually spoke to a ghost? About five stayed standing up.

Oprah: (At this point, really getting tremendously excited!)
Wow, imagine that? These people actually spoke to a ghost.

And now for the last question, how many of you five guys have actually made love to a ghost?

Four guys sat down except one, at the last row of seats. The crowd exploded.

Oprah: May we call the gentleman to come to the stage please!

At this the cameras focused on an aging old man and guess what, a Filipino.

Oprah: Wow, that was unbelievable: Sir, may we know who you are?

My name is Topacio Mamaril - my friends call me ' Top Gun' for
short.

Oprah: What do you do and where are you from?

Top Gun: I am a retired Navy man from Laoag, Ilocos Norte, Philippines and presently living in Napa Valley, California and am a farmer by trade.

Oprah: Interesting! So, you really made love to a ghost?

Top Gun: Huh???...(adjusting his hearing aid) What ghost? I thought you said GOATS!

I don't know if I do or not.  I kinda lean toward believing though.  When I was in 3rd grade, my dad was stationed at Ft. Leavenworth, going to school.  Leavenworth has been around for a very long time.  The place we lived (barracks converted into apartments) was built in the 1880's.  On halloween, someone at the fort did a presentation called "ghosts of leavenworth"  Lots of pictures and stories.  I thought it was realy cool, and after the presentation, they took us on a tour, and showed us some of the places the pics were taken at.

My closest experience was when we were at Gettysburg.  (I've got a book about ghosts at Gettysburg as well :gap: )  We were walking around Devil's Den (for those of you that don't know, Devil's Den is a large area of jumbled rock, the site of some very  violent, close quarters combat)  Well, it was a pretty crappy day, drizzly, overcast, and cold, but we were only there for a few days, so we made the most of it.  When we got there, we were the only people there.  Never saw anyone else the whole time, but we kept hearing voices, yelling, etc., just out of deciphering range, so we just heard the sound.  We also heard shots, but nothing very loud.  We figured there was a reenactment going on somewhere else on the battlefield. We went back to the car for lunch, and while we were eating we heard a man scream in pain, coming from the middle of the rocks.  My dad and I ran back over there, and started looking for someone needing help.  We heard someone moaning in pain, but it sounded like it was far away, we followed the sound to a small cave in the rocks, we crawled in, and there was no one there, and no other way out.  We glanced around real quick, and found a partially dried blood stain on the sandy floor of the cave, undisturbed, and fairly fresh :yikes:

Turns out, after talking to a ranger, that there were no reenactments going on that day.  Other people had reported similar things that we had.  It always happened during that kind of weather, when there weren't many people out there.  Also, I found out later reading a book on gettysburg, written by a survivor of the battle, that a young man in his regiment had died in that cave, and he was with him when he died.  He had helped pull the kid into the cave, and discribed it word for word, exactly how we saw it   :conf: Kinda creepy, but really cool.

I don't know if this counts, but I'm sure many people have felt this way.  I don't know if its just the sense of loss, respect for the dead, leftover emotions of the dead, etc.  But there have been several times where I have felt a very heavy presence (ghosts mabye? :dunno:
When I was at the Arizona Memorial at Pearl Harbor, Gettysburg (the whole area) , the old execution room at Leavenworth (that was creepy, you could almost feel the hatred) , Custer's last stand, Arlington, the graves at Leavenworth, the Vietnam wall, Firefighter's memorial, etc.

I almost get the feeling of comfort from the memorials, as well as a sense of sadness.  There's a peace about them, this song kinda explains it to me:

Arlington- Trace Adkins
I never thought that this is where I'd settle down,
I thought I'd die an old man back in my hometown,
They gave me this plot of land, me and some other men, for a job well done,
There's a big white house sits on a hill just up the road,
The man inside he cried the day they brought me home,
They folded up a flag and told my mom and dad, we're proud of your son

[Chorus:]
And I'm proud to be on this peaceful piece of property,
I'm on sacred ground and I'm in the best of company,
I'm thankful for those thankful for the things I've done,
I can rest in peace, I'm one of the chosen ones, I made it to Arlington

I remember daddy brought me here when I was eight,
We searched all day to find out where my granddad lay,
And when we finally found that cross,
He said, "son this is what it cost to keep us free" Now here I am,
A thousand stones away from him,
He recognized me on the first day I came in,
And it gave me a chill when he clicked his heels, and saluted me.

[Repeat Chorus]

And everytime I hear twenty-one guns,
I know they brought another hero home to us

We're thankful for those thankful for the things we've done,
We can rest in peace, 'cause we are the chosen ones,
We made it to arlington, yea dust to dust,
Don't cry for us, we made it to arlington
:usa: Its better to die on your feet than live on your knees :usa:

When I was at the Arizona Memorial I got that same feeling.

You know the story of the fox and the scorpion.     The scorpion comes 2 a river   and asked the fox if he could take him across on his back   and the fox is like no way your sting me.   Then the scorpion says but then we would both drown    so the fox says OK

So the scorpion climbs on the foxes back  half way across the river the scorpion stings the fox.  The fox turns and ask why did you do that now well both drown.
The scorpion answers i could not help my self it's in my nature
