So the fact its built in texas isnt enough? :shake_head:

not for some....... just the same way as a lot of the Fords and others are built in Mexico and Canada.......

that van isn't either of the ones pictured..... I will try and see if I can find out the name of it... they are all over the place

there is a diesel hilux here.....

They dont know when theyve got it good! All our trucks come from either Thailand or South Africa the build quality being as good as the other, all the motors are built in Japan and are super strong, theres guys out there running 450 hp from a 2.5 diesel!
I have to admit if they fitted the 6.7 Cummins i would take an interest as we know how reliable they are and how strong they are but then Toyota have always used Toyota motors.... Who knows? Just wish they would pull finger so they can keep up with the big three

Just did a quick Google search. Apparently Nissan is also going to use the same engine

there are some hiluxs out here with a d4d engine and some others with a 2.8L Diesel if I recall correctly.... some of the hiluxs also run a gas engine and it is a 2.7L vvt-i

You recall correctly sir,
D4D 2.5 125-144 hp
D4D 3.0 upto 179hp
The other three liter was not available in the uk but seems to be quite well thought of by those who have imported them.
The Hiace was a brilliant van a mix of hilux and one of there large cars as the later models had IRS and the same engine and transmission as a hikux of the same year.
They are no longer available as sales have dropped increasingly over the last few years due to competition from the likes of the Ford transit, Renault Trafic and VW transporter. its replacement is a rebadged Peugeot van, a recipe for disaster if you ask me! Google toyota ProAce if your really keen, im not, so i havent.

I am just going with what the vehicles I see daily are here.... I know they are all imported to some extent.....

there are more dodge Dakotas and f350s out here than anything else... I am sure in part due to the US Military presence here......

Is this a factory snorkel?

Yup. In Australian/African/South American markets OEM factory Toyota snorkels are a standard option on most 4x4 models.

Stumbled across this today. Never heard of it and there seems to be little to no info out there about these.

1967 Toyota 6 Tonner

Not a 4WD, but came with an available 2D diesel and is a very rare and cool piece of Toyota history. I am not sure if these were sold outside of the Australian market. If anyone has more info about these, please chime in!!

Do it!

I've noticed from the folks that contribute photos to my FB page, that most Cruisers/Hilux in Australia, Africa and the Middle East tend to be white, silver or gold. My guess is that it is due to how hot those places get. I also know that Toyota Australia for example, only offers a handful of colors from the factory for at least the 70 Series, and they are almost all light colors.
