That bikini top you have, how hard was it to install?

Not hard at all. I did mine on the cheap. I bought a used top for $30, the windsheild mount for $25 & the unistrut mounting bracket material was free.
Here's the link.

Downey off road sells them.

I guess it is a decent price.I was comparing tallchevy's budget bikini top build price to downy's.His is so much cheaper.

Actually I think it's a good price too cause you get some extra bracing to keep the soft top up.
I'm just cheap  :gap:

anymore progress?
Not anything good. The weather is starting to cool off so I put the top & the doors back on. I also have an oil leak at the t-case & I will be taking off the d-line e-brake, I'm not to happy with it.

Toydanota won the crossmember, not me

I have another 4Runner that I'm working on for a daily driver so that one will be getting the attention.

Well i decided to sell the brown 87 4Runner. It was taking up space in my driveway. I sold it to a friend that's going to build it. It left today. With that project out of my calender now I have more time to do other projects that I need to finish

I just scored a Kayline top in excellent condition  This guy bought a used 88 4Runner 15 yrs ago & got the factory & the soft top. He was affraid to remove the hard top & install it so it sat in the box this whole time. The top has been used but the windows & top have no rips or discoloration.

I just picked it up today & looked at it at the guys house. I think I'm going to wait until winter is over so the plastic windows won't get cloudy.

Well it's been a while but I did a motor & tranny swap on the 4Runner. I installed a low mile engine with an LC cam & LC header. The tranny also has low miles. I did notice a power difference after the swap. I'm still on my 1st full tank of gas but it looks like my MPG is going to be close to the stock engine. I'll know in the next few weeks what the average will be.
