I started taking pic's later than I should have. This was a complete 4Runner when we started. Wait until fordh8r posts the pic's. He used the plasma while I used his camera

My parts truck, not the built one. The body was straight except for the right front kick panel & the frame was bent.

We cut the gas door out so that my buudy can patch it in the rear for my auxillary tank for a factory look. Also going to fix some rusted parts of the panels.

I would give it to you but it has sentimental value.  Maybe I should paint my Runner red to match the cap.

When I got this 4Runner it came with grey & blue interior. The head liner, steering wheel, rear carpet & rear body panels are grey. The dash, door panels, front & rear seats were blue   I spilled oil in the rear & had to cut most of the carpet out.

The other white Runner had complete grey interior so I pulled it before we cut it up. Now it's time to up grade. I sold the front & rear seats a few weeks ago. I pulled the the panels & cleaned up the rear.

I like to keep the factory look in side as much as possible. Some one cut holes in the old grey panels & put these speakers in. I have been using these speakers for 2 years like this.

The panels I'm installing have holes for factory speakers & I have factory speakers that mount behind the panels.

I got some Phoenix Gold 5.25's so I can use the factory mounts.

The factory speaker has a built in tweeter so I use tin snips to cut it off.


I use the factory mounts, spacers & mounted the speakers.

I got more of the grey interior installed today. Rear passenger carpet, rear seats, front carpet & front seats. I still need to swap the passenger door for the power door, get the blue dash out, replace the heater core & install the rear heater & center console.

those speakers were dead! the new ones are sweet, nice mount. I am just about a similar project.

I had an amp fixed at a stereo shop & installed it last night. Everything was working & going good until I went to mount the amp to the box then "poof" the amp caught on fire. I was  Oh well, I took it back this morning & they are going to fix it.

i got a small amp for my rear speakers and subs... it kicks

My driver side shock mount ripped off the side of my frame. My fault since I didn't weld in the supports  It's ok, it gives me a reason to do ruf & move the upper shock mount forward also. Here is the frame after I patched the holes. I still have to grind it smooth & plate the frame.

I was going to start my ruf today but I came across a deal on Craigslist.
