I will counter act the moment on the beam by tying the brace directly into the bracket.  Do my beast to take the entire load linearly straight out to a braced frame mount for the square tube.

The force is stronge in this one.
This is simular to my thinking I have a old pipe that I bent for this. But ditn´t find the place to mount it any where. I was thinking yesterday should I cut the crack out of the frame and brace it even more with bars to each frame side or should I change the whole thing. I hope I choosed wisely

hmmm that explains it. Good to know, next time I will be wondering if something is strong enough or to strong I will ask you

funny tho. when I was building the suspension on my front suspension an engineer popped up in the garage one night ( a lot of people pop up at my garage uninvited, must be for enjoying the circus ) :clap2: and he offcourse had to show us all how cleaver he is and told me that this and that was not good enough.. .  (this was after I had the truck standing in all wheels and almost finished)
I had my worries and sad down after he left and thought about what he said really hard, until I said f*** him what do those engineers know anyway.  and carried on with my stuff.....    this sentence has got stuck to me ever since. :ha_ha:

haha when does it start to snow there again.  I would love to wheel with you guys someday, I'm a big snow wheeling fan.  I looks like your tires have changed to some 40" Gumbo's

Bazzi

The tires are 38" mudders that I have been driving on for the summer. The trxxus sits and waits for the winter.
I am thinking it will bee around 3-4 weeks till we can go for some serius snow wheelings.

ok now there is a litle twist.

I have been offered a Landcruiser vx 90 model 2000. That truck is on ´33 and has the 1kzte engine. . .
Should I sell the Hirunner and start over again or should I keep on searshing for a bigger engine for the Hirunner?

here is a pic of a simular landcruiser on 33"

and one on 38"

what to do?????

I would be all about the Cruiser.  That is my dream DD/snow rig and I wish that I could get a diesel toyota over in the states. Please build the Cruiser and put some real tires on it.

BTW I am so jealous that you get to go snow wheeling in 3 weeks.  I just hope the snow starts to fly here someday.  Its to warm still AGHHHHH

Bazzi

I looked at the cruiser today. and damn

But it is a lot of work modifying one of those babys so it will ever be close to the Hirunner in snow wheeling....

and the plus is noone has ever modifyed one of those baby´s  like I would.

But on the other hand there I don´t have the same spare time as I used to have and not the same money. And it would probably cost me simular as the truck to modify it. So I really would have to have a really good sponsor,  :help: to help me buy those reverse cut 5.29 the adapter plate and for the v6 model from marlin, and the adapter plate for the t-cases, and those nice fiper optic fenders, those fansy axles for the solit front axle and  and so on and so on.
Damn I am almost looking forward to this, But on the other hand after all that It would probably be near the Hirunner in performanse.

damn why are peoble giving me these choises.   :nerv:

My 85 Truck has the Marlin 1600-lb in it, but I ordered the 1200-lb for the 89 4Runner.

I have 33 inch tires with 4.88 gears, 4.70 transfer case gears and the 1600-lb has a bit too much grip off road.  It made several places in Moab (dump bump & rocker knocker) more difficult because it caused the engine to "bog" when in the past it must have been able to slip a bit with the stock clutch.

If you run large enough tires, the 1600-lb might be the way to go, it was great on the street.

I am running 39,5" (may going on 44" if I keep the truck and find a bigger engine) the way I drive the truck I need to be able to slip a litle when I release the clutch..... Is that possible with the ceramic clutch.?

I wannt the ceramic one but the one that I installed in my buddy´s x-tra cab (39")  seamed to be more like on off..... mabe that would be solved with the smaller press?

I don´t know you must tell me

Sounds like the 1600-lb non-ceramic would work well.  From what I understand the ceramic clutches don't slip very well.

the cops here are getttin really bad for tires stickin out to far and the bushwackers are to $$  how much do thoes fenderflares cost?
You Haven't Seen Cold Till You Lived Here

Bazzi

the fender flares cost allot. But the truck isn´t street legal without it.  Mine cost ed around 50 000 kr something around 659$ but I had to modify them alot to fit, and meet my standards.
The ones on the landcruiser cost around 80 000- 120 000 kr ( 1030-1540 $) it depends on the year and model of the truck......   you could get fender flares for 88-95 hilux for something around 20-30 000 Kr (250-400)$ that is used. But offcourse this is necessary for us so they cost a lot of :twocents:
