Hey man just read the build up all the way through.you got one bad ass truck.Its giving me inspiration to start working on my 81.What rc crawler is that?i know it has the axial beadlocks on it.Sick build up and keep up the good work

wow thank you... but trust me my build isnt that great compared to alot of others on here...
yeah i at one point i almost bought the whole mountaineer kit just for the first gen body but then i saw the price and said F&^% that... but i kept it toyota w/ the fj body

Yeah this is my first toyota,i traded my old heep for it.I love it.i dont know why i didnt get a toyota sooner.I have gotten alot of info and ideas from marlincrawler,and i just enjoy reading up on 1st gens.Im getting lots of ideas and your build is adding to my addiction.LOL

hopefully soon.I get paid next week so i want to go to the local pick and pull and find some 63'' chevys,and then start collecting parts.as soon as i have enough parts then i will start one.until then i will just keep reading all the great build-ups on here to keep getting ideas.

well i already got rid of the 83 for a 4door datsun 510 BUT i got to keep the L52 and t-case which have recently been rebuilt and the optima battery and brand new weber carb. 

i mainly traded to help out a buddy who needed a motor for his truck

sounds like you came out pretty good on that deal.... 510's are sweet  ....are you putting the rebuilt trans and t-case in your truck ??

yeah i'm gonna make my rear topshift case now my front case and adapt it to the l52 w/ the tcase that came off the l52 in the back.

yeah i used to have a 510 like 2 years ago and i regretted the day i sold it now i have another one to tinker with.

well started digging into my motor and adjusted my valves nothing wrong there timing chain guides are still intact and everything looks good in the head... next i'm gonna pull the oil pan maybe theres something floating around.

Also realized when i went wheeling last i busted 2 knuckle studs and aparently drove home w/ only 2 halfway off studs 
hopefully the trinion is okay

well the studs are 30 years old hehe.
yeah i was thinking arp's but i think for a quick fix i'm gonna order some studs from sky only $7 for the stud, cone washer, flat washer and nut and they are only 2 hours away so i would hope shipping would be quick haha

hey i got to get it in while i can.  mine is goin pretty good right now. got this sweet motor in it it     did great on sunday. out of 6 rigs me and the cherokee were the only ones that didnt brake. you need to get yours fixed while im still goin strong.

well tore into the truck some more today to find about an inch long piece of my PLASTIC timing chain guide in there which sucks cause i was told they were metal . and my #2 rod bearing is fried . so im gonna try to find a cheap stock motor on craigslist or something throw that in and rebuild my old motor.

if ya wanna make the drive down to creswell call A&G auto wrecking down there and you can prolly pick up a 2rz for less than a 22r and its well worth every penny
