ok so i have been looking up stuff for a chevy 63 swap    my one buddy already did his on his taco  looks funny .    Im looking for parts  i would rather use marlin  but im not sure if marlins rear spring parts will work with 63s. i did find this http://www.sky-manufacturing.com/new/detaproduct.php?id=125   looks like a good price and has what i need, any input on that kit would be nice.

I plan on doing this when i go to do more frame repair so the bed and fuel tank will be out.

Now i have a few ?  will i have to change my pinon angle. ( my buddy did on his taco)
will i have to use longer brake lines? ( i think so)
longer drive shaft? ( i think not)
what shocks?

I plan on using marlins u-bolt flip kit and since it dose not have shock mounts on it i will have to get the shock mounts.  and also make a upper shock mount bar.

I plan on centering the pins  and using that to aline the mounts   what shackle angle should i look for/set up ?

Joe,  i went with the F150 2wd springs, they are almost identical in length to Marlins springs and will give a pickup 3-4 inches of soft lift

soft meaning a really nice ride

i used Marlins hangers and some custom shackles, although im gonna change my shackles i think

i think they're 58 inches,  5 leaves (thin), not sure about the bolt size but i used the ford hanger bolts and they fit perfect in the Marlin Hanger

as far as your hitch, i still have mine  but my shackle will touch it when fully stuffed

i have a load of dirt on it now so i need to get a few pics and take some measurements for a new shackle design

nah man,  just  mark where your axle is on the frame,  then put the f150 springs on the axle and tighten the ubolts, then put the Marlin hanger on the front of the spring, against the frame, double check that your axle is still centered (where you marked it) and then tack the hanger in place

Unc just find a new frame it will be easer just to put your body over on to a solid axle frame just shave the body mounts off your current frame weld them on the new frame and go with it. :disturbed:

I was approved for a loan to buy this and ten minutes later the guy had it sold.

I tried to search for it, but there used to be a company that made replacement frames.

I might be worth it to find a spare rig from a location where the frames aren't bad, and you got spare parts, or you could sell off what you don't need and recover your $$.  It might be pain, but it would be worth it in the long run.  That's what I'd do.

Heck, find one with a rear axle still on it, and bolt on a hitch and tow it home!!

Another option is like http://jimsgotparts.com/ they can ship!

Miss ya Dean (4THEWKN) & Kyle (KYOTA)!!

not all of us can fab up to do an SAS either.

600 for an IFS list, i'd pay that too.

for DD its not that bad guys.
this is just a SA site so the IFS gets dogged.
let it go, Unc likes it.

Good job Unc, now get it on.

I'm not an sa guy i love my ifs i mean shoot I'm helping with Fire Guys Racing. i just think that if your going to do any type of wheeling, its going to want to fold under extremely easy and all it does with a drop k member kit is give you room for bigger tires but no extra flex. just my thoughts on it id go long arm kit or sas id prefer long arm to be able to stomp on it and fly high!!!

I'm not an sa guy i love my ifs i mean shoot I'm helping with Fire Guys Racing. i just think that if your going to do any type of wheeling, its going to want to fold under extremely easy and all it does with a drop k member kit is give you room for bigger tires but no extra flex. just my thoughts on it id go long arm kit or sas id prefer long arm to be able to stomp on it and fly high!!!
he got what he wanted, cheap lift

he runs in mud, not rocks or the desert

and  NewJersey rules would condemn his truck with a sas, he wouldnt be able to drive it on road at all because it would be too high
