just changed out timing belt and waterpump

Ijust finished a timing belt waterpump replacement..got air in the system and the new thermostat isn't opening..how do i purge/burp  the cooling system? thanx for any help in advance  Steve

you run it with the rad cap off it will burp itself fine.

hopefully you put in an oe t-stat?
if not it may not have the weep hole and then youre screwed.
if there was no little jiggle valve you need to pull it and drill a little hole in the flange for air to pass by.

yea man,  always  make a small hole  for air  to  seep thru  or  its hard as heck  to  get the air out

My new thermo had a bleed valve...doesn't yours?
IFS is best kept at ambient temperature in a pile of scrap in the backyard.  When kept under a functioning vehicle, it tends to greatly diminish said vehicle's offroad ability.     -reklund5

Most of the aftermarket ones from my local parts house comes with the little rattle in them!  Park on a steep hill and crack the cap over night!
