My sister talked me into going with her to San Jacinto on the 23rd to see Darryl Worley. It's all free since she works for a big country station out here. She is all in love with him and I guess I'm just there to keep the drunken goobers off her. Well, by the time this happens I will have made it 50 years without going to California. What is the area around SJ like?

Sadly, there is not much to do in San Jacinto.  You could visit Infernal at AllPro in Hemet.  Some wheeling available in Big Bear nearby.  I'd offer to take you but I need new tires and probably won't have them by then.

Sis work for KFRG?  On air?

No, she works for a Tucson station. KIIM FM, she has accounts in Socal too. Hell she just went to Darryl's Tucson show...I think she's turning into a country version of a dead head! I thought about going to see Allpro...I don't know what kind of time we're going to have.

But...wouldn't you have to drive out here in order to drive out there?

I know my preconceived notions of what California is like are probably waay off...but

I am about 30 minutes from the SJ/Hemet area and it is one of the last locations that doesn't have the SoCal attitude to it. Among the tract houses that have sprung up remain a whole lot of farmers. You could take someone from the Midwest and place them in Hemet and they might not know the difference (other than the gas prices). ;)

Never heard of him myself.

and as far as Kommifornia goes, it's not as if you're moving there, you're only going to be there for a few days and you're gone again. It's not a bad place to visit. EXCEPT... they don't have exit #'s, at least not on the highways we traveled, especially in SoCal, and that can be really frustrating.

NT-OUTBACK

San Jacinto the weather is hot, the air smells of cow poo and there is nothing to do.

My grandmother lived there for 70 years.
