Yeah the plan is to get it rolling and back on insurance to do a little snow wheeling and actually be able to get out of my driveway once a good snow storm hits this winter.

sounds good

Any guy who takes his woman wheeling enjoys her. A woman who is owned is left at home to cook, clean, and keep beer cold. So if this offends you you should stop looking and go have some tacos.    :rofl2: And a beer. If your old enough.   :beerchug:

So my buddy went to Fordyce for the first time yesterday, and calls me from the trail all super pumped up. He's trying to convince me to get the ball rolling and go to MCR. I Just dont think I am going to have enough money by then, the truck will be fixed for sure, but I really wanted to get new tires and do a bunch of misc stuff before I wheel it again. So maybe I can muster up the $$$ and make MCR happen....  :crossed:

I'm getting tempted.

Anyone got any 35-37" tires (no rims) for a 15" rim for sale? Preferably cheap. MTRs or BFGs in the old style or anything really. If you have some in the Nor Cal (sacramento area) let me know. Need rubber asap

Huh? How did I mount them is that what you are asking? I just mounted the drop hanger 1.5" forward of stock and used the stock SA shackle location. The Lab's hanger I have his a 2" drop hanger though, I dunno what these other ones are (Marlin, Trail-Queer, etc)

From what I understand, the 44044 springs are a 2" lift waggy springs. Mine are stock waggy springs. Didnt even mix and match em. Not really sure how much lift I netted, I just know that with the 63s, and a 6" shackle in the rear, and with the top on, my rear end sits a little lower than the front. With the top off though it sits pretty even.

Yeah I would guess its a 3-4" lift. I wanted to keep my 4runner as low as possible. I don't plan on running anything larger than 37s at least for some time, so it works perfectly. I can easily fit 37s without any modification.

This weekend hopefully  :crossed: :crossed: :crossed:

I have been seeing a ton of freshly SASed yotas mobbing around town, and after busting out several hours of wrenching on the gfs truck the other day, I am back in the wrenching mode. Got lazy and unmotivated for a while. I need to get the 4runner mashing again. I want to try and hit Fordyce once this year before the snow.

Hell yeah man! Your Runner is looking good. How do you like those new BFGs? My buddy just got some on his DD (in a 31 flavor) but he hasnt wheeled them yet. Considering those or the new MTRs for my next set of tires if i cant find any old style MTRs used. 46&2 has always been my favorite but Opiate is a classic, in fact the album itself is awesome because its so raw. I saw Opiate live when I saw tool in 2001 and it was intense live. they never play anything from Opiate anymore. Anyway let me know when you make a journey up here, Fordyce is practically in my backyard. Cruise up and stay the night at my place and the next morning we can be at fordyce in 45 minutes :)

Thanks man! Im really diggin the km2's, Got the chance to test them out in loose dirt, rock, sand, mud, and wet rock all in the same trip. They did excellent all around! Much better than my last few sets of mtr's, they float better in the sand and feel like a much softer compund in the rocks. In mud they felt like the same tire. They drive much better on the road too, super quiet and a smooth ride even at 35psi. The biggest difference was that the km2's dont dig holes as easy as the old mtr's in loose dirt. I hear the new mtr's are badass, but they look a bit funny in sizes under 33. Im sold on the km2's though, highly reccomended!

Ill definately make a trip up there next spring/summer! Fordyce looks like a hell of a fun trail! Hows your rig comin along? By the way, your runner was the inspiration for building the 4skinner :beerchug:

Just gotta pick a day to hammer it all out. Been really busy with school the last few weeks. All I gotta do is put in a new clutch and reinstall my tranny and duals, put in a new gas tank and fix a few loose ends (broken center pin, new spring clamps, etc)

"Later, I learned that even though I engage 4WD my hubs are not automatically locking? Something about manual locking hubs I think. What's manual mean? I need to read a manual to lock them? lol  So I found these neat autolocking hubs and installed them. Sometimes they dont stay locked while I am backing up, but that's fine because I dont have a backup camera to see where Im going (like our RV) so I just simply dont ever back up"- BigMike

Bomb. I have been drinking a the :pokinit: out of the 2009 Stone Vertical Epic. Expensive but worth it. This years is way better than last years IMO. I couldn't wait until 12/12/12 to open it though :gap:

Got a few things from Marlin for the final push towards the 4runner being back on the road again. Got:

Heavy duty shifter seat and socket for the tranny
new heavy duty tranny output seal
new  :turtle: shift knob so both cases can be blinged out with cool knobs :gap:

also got the RC sticker sheet for the Axial and a  :turtle: hoodie sweatshirt for my niece for Xmas. She wanted one...

Need a few more mods before I can go all the way though...  :eyebrow:

Overall had fun, got to release some of that built up wheeling stress. Lack of a rear locker is annoying me though, im trying to decide on a detroit or an aussie locker. Ive been reading a lot of good things about Aussies and for the price I cant beat it. Leaning towards getting one of those.

Actually I did buy an Aussie, but decided to weld the rear instead and sold the Aussie to Matt (THK90).

Life dealt me a lot of  :bull crap: the last couple months and I have had more important things to take care of right now. I have a heavy load this semester and am preparing to transfer to a new school, at which point my 4runner will be put into storage because I am NOT taking it to the city with me to get stolen. Probably out of the game for a while. School overrides fun at this point. Besides, when I get out of college in a couple more years and get my career going on I can finally spend some $$$ and build my next dream rig (thinking something along the lines of the Revivalist's Double Cab Tacoma).  :yesnod:

I do need to get the 4runner fixed soon for the snow, but its not at the top of my list of priorities at this point.

I did go out to the Winter Funfest 2010 at Greenhorn this past weekend, but due to the last few years of shrinking public land at Greenhorn (Thanks BLM, NC Sheriffs, and Hansen Brothers  :shake:), the turnout was dismal for the scraps we have left. On the bright side, Sheriffs/Forest Service were not being  :stopit: and writing tickets for erosion like they were the last couple years.

If you look back at my pictures from 2 years ago, the last time I went, you can see its just not what it used to. Also all the places in the pics from 2 years ago are now closed.  :inthedark:

Saturday's turnout:

The usual suspects: Wade, Jimmy, Adam:

Wade just got done building this 4runner for his dad, who is stoked. SAS, 5.29s, detroit rear, 35s, high steer, f&r custom bumpers. Wade doesn't want to give it up though, I sense a 4runner build in his future
