35X10.50R15 Boggers on 1st gen?
« on: Jan 13, 2007, 07:41:59 PM »
Anyone ever run a set of 35X10.50R15 Boggers on a 1st gen?  Pictures?  I have an '82 with a 4.5" lift underway and they look appealing.

Dang, I know there's a member running a beat 1st gen with skinny boggers, seems like they were 35x10.5.  Look good on it too!

I haven't seen them on a 1st gen before. Hence the reason for asking.  I bet they look similar to the 35X10.50R15 Simex Extreme Trekkers on the Australian Hilux models

a buddy ran them for a wile he normaly runs 35x16x15 and the only thing he complained about is that they didnt want to climb out of ruts as easy as the wide ones and in soft stuff they almost dug too much but worked great on hard packed slick clay on the light truck

why would you go that skinny? would there be a stability issue with 4.5" of lift?

Here's one that my buddy picked up a few months ago. I think the Boggers are wider than 10.50 though.  Might give ya an idea.

I was interested in mounting them on  my stock chrome toy wheels.  Also thought about the 34X10.50R15 LTB'.   Just kinda prefer the narrow tires.  My 22R is underpowered and they would help get my through the thick stuff

One thing no one else stated is with a narrow footprint like tha you loose some stability on sidehills and offcamber situations. There might be anorther problem too keeping the tires on the rims will be hard unless you run a verry narrow rim. Airing down or running lower air pressure won't net alot of sidewall flex on this narrow a tire either. These narrower rims would need wheel spacers or a shallow backspacing to keep from rubbing the leafs when turning just the same as almost any 38'' tires.
Hug your kids, pray for a soldier, and don't sweat the small stuff.

I am running 4.56 gears. I would run the tires on either 15X8 or 15X7 rims.  The truck is not going to be wheeled very hard yet.  What size in the 33-34" size range would be better.  I am going to run 33X9.50R15 BFG AT for the street and I want a tire for wheeling only.

Dangit!  Still can't remember the member's name, but I remember it being black with a little yellow and waaaaaaaaay hammered!  Look in the "show us them round jap fenders" thread, it's in there somewhere on the last or second to last page.

Sure those are 10.50 wide?  They look like 12.50 or 13.50

The truck I'm referring to, for sure.  The tread on it looks barely 8" wide

I'm running the super swamper ltb's 34x10.5 on a 15x8 rim. I have a 4"trail gear lift with stock gears for now for the price you can't beat em. I'm happy with them now but a soon as i have the money to dump into my axles it 5 29s assuies longs, 37" boggers A roll cage would be nice to. i'll try to get a pic up.

Pics please!  :drooling: I'm thinking about the 33x13.50 or 34x10.50 LTB for my rig. For less than a buck 40 a tire, you can't beat'em.

I'd really like to see how the 34x10.50's look before I decide.

That's what I was thinking, but can I run a 13.50 tire on an 8" wheel without looking retarded? I'm thinking I'll need a 10" wheel.  :dunno:

Eventually I might go 12.50 on 8" wheels (which seems like a popular thing to do), and I don't want to buy more wheels, if I was to buy 10 inchers for the 13.50s.

good point,  you should look into the mastercraft MT's  they are made in Texarkana  at the Cooper plant,  nice agressive mud tire  and a 33-12.50   is  around $125

Not bad, but your tire is 4" taller than a 33, so it looks less "balloon" like.

The wheel/tire combo first caught my eye is the second post of the "jap bed round fender" thread (the black 1st gen) http://board.marlincrawler.com/index.php?topic=13593.msg147591#msg147591 . Those look like 8" wheels, and the sidewalls look to "balloon" like to me. IMHO, that would look better with a 10" wheel. I guess I just have picky taste. :-\ One day I'll learn "function over form"
