Anyone ever run a set of 35X10.50R15 Boggers on a 1st gen?
Are you sure they make a 35x10.50 Bogger?.As far as I know they only make a 35x16.5 and a 35x14.5 in the 35 inch flavor.

I would just like to add, that the mastercraft courser MT mentioned above is an incredible tire. on a stock 91 4x4 with 31/10.50 on stock rims. 98$ each mounted and they lasted 50k to 60k of very hard driving. great in the snow too.

So, I am also thinking about a set of 35X12.50R15 Dunlop Mud Rovers cause they are cheap. What would you all consider to be the minimum efffective tire width for a 34-36" tire?

I would say the minimom effective width is 10.5 for 34's any taller I like the 12.5's

Also looking at a set of 35X12.50R15 Maxxis Trepadors.  Who has experience with these tires?

Aren't those pretty spendy?  I thought you were lookin at the dunlops because they were cheap?  Don't get me wrong, I like the maxxis, but they're not cheap.

When did goodyear buy dunlop?  To be honest, I've never seen dunlops that were cheap, especially not cheaper than most other big name tires.  Coopers and hercules used to be VERY cheap, I'm talking $400 otd for a set of 31" muds, but since going to the new style tread (identical to toyo mt's) they've skyrocketed in price, now on a par with all the popular mud tires out there.

Yeah but I have noticed a substantial jump in  the price of the Dunlops.  I will spend more for tires if they are really good, but I would rather buy a cheap one if I am not sure.

Just go with a 33X12.50/15 tsl Bias 150$ each. I use to run the radials in that size w/ 4.88's and I loved them. But I would go with the 12.50 if your lacking power, too skinny digs bad,
I had a buddy use the 38x11 bogger and those skinny tires will dig to china!!!

I'm going with 35x12.50x15 Kumho Venture MT's on 15x10 rims with Staun pneumatic beadlocks as soon as i can afford to re-gear to 4.88 with Aussie lockers. They're only $149.00 ea.

Yeah, but the Kumho's look just as good and have better 'tire performance ratings'. They scored signfigantly higher on treadwear, ice traction, etc.

The tread is just a little too tight for a mud tire, but that's just me :dunno:

Here is a new set of 35X 10.50 Boggers on stock 15X7" Rims. No lift and generously cut fenders. MIght be a third gen but it is a good pic of the tires:

I was interested in mounting them on  my stock chrome toy wheels.  Also thought about the 34X10.50R15 LTB'.   Just kinda prefer the narrow tires.  My 22R is underpowered and they would help get my through the thick stuff

I run 35X12:50's on stock alloy wheels. They crown a little when aired up, but I can air WAY down without worrying about popping a bead.  I DO have a set of 8" wheels I am going to mount, but still...it DOES work...

Yeah I have a set of the stock '82 chrome steels on my '82.  I am going to mount the tires on them, thus the reason for not wanting to go wider than 12.50, but I do prefer narrower tires.
