"Later, I learned that even though I engage 4WD my hubs are not automatically locking? Something about manual locking hubs I think. What's manual mean? I need to read a manual to lock them? lol  So I found these neat autolocking hubs and installed them. Sometimes they dont stay locked while I am backing up, but that's fine because I dont have a backup camera to see where Im going (like our RV) so I just simply dont ever back up"- BigMike

Does that sticker in the back window say "cowboy buts drive me nuts" by chance?

I am pretty sure that cutting that bed up could be considered a sin or maybe a federal offense.  I can't believe how clean it is. Very nice truck

Bob that thing. The extra length off the box will help on hillclimbs since the stock box will drag and dig into the ground.

the whole box is comin off... flat bed goin on!

You are lost! :shake: Why would you put a flat bed on that truck? Pure stupidity. That truck is way too nice to chop up and turn into some bashed up piece of crap. You have a rare vehicle that is in exceptional condition, so don't act like a 17 year old and put some stupid flat bed on it. You will regret it  :twocents:

Like Oregon Crawler said, if you have pent up adolescent desires of chopping sheetmetal and ruining vehicles do it to a different truck. Sell this one to somebody that will care about and buy a beater.

okay folks... i still plan on puttin a flatbed on it.  I dont plan on thrashing it but i didnt buy it to keep like a collecter car.  I agree its nice but a flat bed is more practical for me.

Jk man :kickbutt: flat beds are :pimp:

i have definitly considered the topper route but the topper dosnt give me the room i need.  I bought a dog so the flat beds gonna be put on hold for a week or so.  If anyone has any ideas that will give more room without losing the bed lets hear them...

Are you gonna put some big gay sides on the thing? I don't see how you will gain space? Are you gonna leave it as long as a stock bed? Your new dog would rather ride in a factory Toyota bed than a homemade flatbed.

I to like the flat bed they look really cool and are tough as nails. But if you think about it and those that have them will tell you with bad weather or even frost your gear gets wet and if you take your dog with you he stays dry and out of the sun. I like my bed and top for the same reasons and I can throw my gear in and go hunting for the weekend and just sleep in side, no tent to put up. Just my 2 :twocents: Worth. And if it ever gets thrashed sell it and then build a flaty. By the way nice truck yours looks even cleaner than mine.

im not worried about space for the dog, i need room for gear and what not.  True the flat bed will leave stuff out in the weather but i have several boxes that would keep stuff dry.  The only change would be it would be about 10 inches shorter that way the back end dosnt drag on steep climbs.

toytank

man ill sell you a beater just dont hurt the beauty.  but if you must bogger runner is loking for a bed and could possible trade you a flatbed
old and sqeaky but she goes

TRHS1980

All this talk about that pristine bed... is it rusted inside around the seems? I'm not sure if it's been asked, but that's what would seemingly make it worth some decent cash. I would assume that's one of the #1 problems with the old beds. :dunno:

Also, I'm not sure how a flatbed shorter than the stock bed is going to allow you gain space. With things tied down properly you can pile a standard bed pretty damn high without a problem. It doesn't look like you're going to change your mind, but there's my  :twocents: anyway. Good luck, whatever you decide.
