The attourney told me that it could cost upwards of 15,000 grand to fully take them to court for fraud, and if I won I could get reimbursed, and then some.  But if it puts the shop under they can declair bankruptsy and I would still be stuck with attourney bills, unless the owner did something stupid and didnt form his shop under an LLC.

Yup, that is the downside to if they dont freak out and give in. My parents run a real estate magazine, basicaly like autotrader for homes. Their clients are always trying shady to get out of paying, the last guy they took to court they spent about 6K on the court battle and in the end, he declared bankrupsy and they wasted 6K for nothing. so all in all they lost out on about 10K because he owed them 4 to begin with. hopefuly the guy takes all that into consideration. hope everything works out, people like that should not be in business, that is just wrong to treat customers like that

If I could afford to I would take them to court to put them out of buisness.  People like this make life real hard for people who do honest work.  I wouldnt want to put him out of buisness just to be vendictive because of the pita its been for me, but I met another guy took his rig to them for an oil leak, and them it wasnt worth much, it was a porche, and he was gone for a few weeks, came back to pick it up and they billed him 14 grand, and we are not the only ones to get screwed,  the past employee I mentioned said it happend alot and thats why he quit, he didnt know any more first and last names to give me.

What is the name of the shop anyway? and what city? you should definitely try and get a bunch of people together like someone said (or at least the aforementioned people if you cant find any others) and get the local paper to do an article on shady business practices. get the press up in his face, raise hell if hes going to be a cockwasher about the situation. newspapers always love scandals

I dont see why not. Remember all the TG hatred a while back? There was some major talking going on in here. This is similar but quite different. TG is one thing but they arent ripping their customers off by charging obscene amounts or backing out on written agreements with customers. Consumers should be informed about where NOT to take their vehicles. I would post it just as a warning to anyone else in your area that may consider that shop for work. You aren't blatantly lying about someone, you are informing us about being ripped off by a business with shady tactics.

If you want a good honest shop to take your vehicle for work do not take it to

TopTech Automotive Located in Lockwood Montana, Just outside of billings.  They confirmed history of taking advantage of their customers, writing bad checks, and backing out of agreements, as well as claiming work has been done that hasnt!

wow... so the last 12 posts or however many there are took me a long while to read and by now im ready to beat some major ass.... so you want to be the getaway driver? why have the blood on your hands? i live thousands of miles away and with my sierra Nevada sweatshirt on the d-bag wont be able to tell who it was.... this is his description..... one hell of a good looking cat, sierra Nevada sweatshirt, wrangles, and his boots were justin size 11.5, (he would only know that because it says on the bottom wink wink), and if the cops did happen to get to chico they would just turn around and walk away since this is a hick town and so many bro's try to act hard and by wearing wranglers and boots, its a joke but they wouldnt ever find me, as long as they dont read the post..... that just flat out pisses me off. next time you go there go with a video camera and record EVERY INCH of that jeep, so if he does part anything out you have visual evidence of what it was, where and when the last time it was on the rig. take a million photos, even down to every weld so if you do get this back you know that if something looks funny you can go back to the hard evidence and look at it. this guy sounds like a trip and i wouldnt put it past him to mess with it physically.

i would love to beat this guy down and take his teeth as a souvenir, and mail them back to him now and again to keep him straight and not screw people over anymore. but on a more serious note wait for the law to settle it before you bash this guys shop and you get your jeep back so he cannot mess with it. after its back in your possession then go to town with local media and what not.....

Yea thats pretty much my plan is to let the law deal with it, as crappy as it is to have to deal with... I just hope I can still take it to the media afterwards without ahving to worry about the guy coming after me...  I am not enough familiar with laws, guess I didnt get into enough trouble when I was a kid!!!

Yea me too.....  I sure hope so, I havent been in court for anything like this and dont know how confident I am in the court systems...  Karma owes this guy big,  only guy that i know wil lie to your face and try to shake your hand repeadily...

BOTH of you need to march over to the local TV station and get a reporter involved.  My guess is that being nailed on TV will get him moving - and the TV station/reporter has lawyers which love this sort of investigative reporting.

He had his warning - now get his face all over the news.
(when fighting legal battles, it's always good to go as high on the legal food chain as you can right off - it usually will scare him)

Oh - and both of you also file/walk in and do it together on a joint claim with the city - so his business license gets revoked(forget the BBB - go straight to city hall). 

Bums like this don't deserve a second chance, because it could be your neighbors who have a problem next.

Can I file with the city?  I asked around and the only thing i got was the consumer protection agency, and all they do is get a written statement from you, formalize it and forward it to the company....  Pretty gay protection if you ask me....

Yeah that is what I was thinking. Usually cops arent too keen on solving problems that arent easy for them to clearly see right off the bat. Newspapers, TV stations ect are always looking for this kind of thing. Here in N Cali there is a news station, Channel 3 Reports and every week they have what is called "Call 3 Problem Solvers"

Basicaly people call them with f-ed up things they cannot get resolved. Ch 3 sends investigators out and they do a report on it. This is the exact thing they would love to cover. The last one I saw was dozens of people living in an apartment complex that had serious mold and rot issues. the landlords would not repair the damage. so the tenets grouped together and contacted Ch3. Sure enough week later they reported back and the landlords had gutted a bunch of rooms and repaired almost all the damage.

Obviously negative press is seriously going to hurt the guys business, which he deserves. if he isnt going to play fair there is no reason you should

Some of the bumper on Looks more overbearing in pics but its not, you cant even see the skids unless you stand way back, their cool cause they protect the brake lines and steering box from damage...  He now has room for 33s, which will beef up his rig a bit.  and more that 5in more clearance on the sides of the bumper from stock.

and with your munchkin under the rug, that was by far the best hiding place as a kid, as long as you cant see them they cant see you, even if the rug did grow a big ass lump and tends to wiggle and laugh out of no where
