no kidding, if i was in a position to buy that and had that much money, i dont think i would, prob just invest in some regular axles and replace the parts when needed....the replacement parts for those cant be cheap

but im also 17 with no job so having that money in hand is just a dream

skipnrocks

I would get them if I had the money.  Parts maybe expensive but man oh man, having nothing below the center of the wheel would be awesome in mud and snow, and rocks.  But the key word is if I had money,  I am 25 and full time student,  its costing me so much to goto school every year it makes me sick.  But I will still dream LOL  :sleepy:

Im proud of the work I put into my rig so these are the mud flaps I got made,  cost right at 100bucks!!! the pics dont do them justice.  Their purdy.  The white part is reflective so at night they will show like a street sign.

The floor is going to be rhinolined black inside and out to protect the body from rocks, and the body is going to be painted that metallic khaki green color that ford uses,  its pretty cool,  in some light it looks dark silver, and in most light its a medium khaki green.   THis isnt a great pic but I found it on ebay.  I believe it has the same paint i picked.  The jeep has been green all my life, and I kinda wanted something to keep the tradition.

Alright heres a few updated pics.  let me know what you think.    :crossed:

I think Im gonna try to have a small strip rolled on the edge and put it along the top like a bed protector for a truck. So I dont have to worry about chiping the gell with throwing stuff in and out.

16lbs of alumunim

Got some new shiny stuff in the mail today.  these are 2 in spacers for the rear of the jeep.  It turns out that my front end is about 6in wider than the rear, so these will bring it within proper range.   :beerchug:

Ok got some more shene. The glass on the inside was so rough so rather than having to have it all sanded down I thought this would be a good alternative and provide some rigidity to the fiberglass.  It will go around the insides except the floor.  THen it will be rhino lined along with the floor.  Its made of 3/36in aluminum diamond plate.

I wasnt sure if I would like it but I think once its lined it will look great and help protect that glass.

Did some thinking and this is what I think I want  to build.  it would be out of 2.5in tubing with .50 thick so it can handle the torque of a larger tire.  Then it will pivot on a 1.5in grade 8 bolt on the one side and will lock into a c-chanel cradle on the other side.  Let me know if you see  any bug desighn flaws.

I am thinking of making one for my truck however it would have the tire on the inside and fold down.  Then the tire is on the outside close to the ground when you want to take it off and it could also be used as a step to get into the back of the truck.

Not a bad Idea !  I was trying to desighn something simular but my problem problem that I had is what size tire to desighn it for.  I guess I could always do it for the widest tire I would be using.  The second thing I was worried about for my rig was being able to have easy access to the back of my rig to get supplies in and out.  Do you have any pics of what you were planing on building.

No pics just a mental image.  I built a flat bed for my truck so it might be hard for your jeep.  Right now I am out of time in the shop I am using so it will have to wait awhile before I can build it.

skipnrocks

I definatly would do a rear folding on a flat bed, it would make it awesome to drop the tire down.  But you can access stuff from the sides, that probably why I will be doing a swinging holder,  I would like to see pics when your done with yours.

Alright I got some new updates and hope to get alot worked out this week.   So anyhow these first 3 pictures are of the new cross bar for the front four link,  it will be gusseted several times to the axle and will help strengthen the steering nuckles.

These last two are of the rear sway bar going in.  It worked out great to mount it inbetween the bumper and the skidbars.  Now I just need to finnish getting the rear shock loops redesighned!

(and yes I know the sway arms are uspide down )

ALright heres the battery box and the fuel cell bracket,  As you can see the fuel cell is notched for the exhaust  I still need to get the top filler hole welded up and get the new filller neck welded to the side.  The battery box will bolt durrectly to the frame and the fuel cell will bolt to the rear cross member and the front will bolt to the center frame cross member,  I will try to get pics of them mocked up this weekend.
