I think its a little late to go for a drawing.  those are from my ranch outside of willits in a-zone.  B-zone archery opens this weekend so im going back up for that since we have a and b on our property.  Im pretty stoked though because this is the first time ive gotten one that early so now i have till november to knuckle down and find a big boy

Ramrod

yeah go shoot your own, my dad already gave away half my deer to some hippy that lives out by the ranch.  They were pretty small bucks, probably 80lbs dressed out.  Ive shot some that were seriously double that up there.  I believe to get into a drawing for a deer tag you have to enter by sometime in june.  There are many tags you can buy directly over the counter though, I just bought a B tag about 3 hours ago.  This is about as big of a bodied blacktail as your gonna find-- luckily I was wansnt afraid to bushwack the original ramrod so that shortend the drag for him

Yota Up

YotaChris - your older brother(or whatever) looks like he could kick some tail.  Right on.

Since ya'll are putting up pics of you with your deer, I'm wondering where ya'll are at with the shots of you drinking that blood?

Or better yet - just eating that meat raw?

(Ladies - sorry.  It's my first buck, took it in Texas.  Axis deer.)

Since we are kinda on the topic...thought I would include some pics of my graduate project..I love my job.  First pic is of the first bull that I collared for my project; not the biggest, but would score around 250 or so (it is not dead, just sedated (edit...for MWM)...I had my hand on his chest to feel him breath); by the way, to all the hunting guys, ya'll here about the 454 bull that was shot out here in West Texas (I have a story about that one)?  Second is just a sweet pic of some bulls in the Davis Mountains.

Texas has some great hunting, but 90% of the state is private...makes it kinda pricey sometimes...and well, if you ever want to go elk hunting...I know where they hang out...LOL.  I guide for 2 outfits and we usually get some really good size animals.

Looks like you got him in an open area, hence the wider flatter rack.  It obviously doesn't always work out that way, but definately seems you'll find more wide racks around flat lands and rolling hills and more tall racks in tighter areas.  Either way he's nice!  The BIGGEST buck I've ever seen while hunting, let alone had a perfect 300 yard broadside shot on, was right AFTER I shot my 3 point.  Can't be too mad though, 17" wide blacktail was pretty nice for a first buck, specially cause he had a good size body too!

you tawkin to me? I didn't do anything to yotaup's post. And that one is just flat nasty too, but there is nothing in the rules that say you can't post pics of your hunting scores, but a warning would be nice.
Maybe they need to be in another thread.
