This is what I got.  87 toy, 4cyl 22R, 4" ifs lift and 2" body, 35" boggers, bone stock every where else.  I am looking to make this truck a weekend run about driving on paved roads (no more than 50 miles of pavement to get to the wheelin spots), after that there is mostly dirt roads and several little play grounds along the way (mud, hills, sand, snow, gas line and power line stuff--NO rocks around here sorry guys).  The question is with the gearing of the truck.  Do I want 4:88 or 5:29's?   I would like to travel at highway speeds with out sacrificing too much and be able to cruise on the dirt roads, but then also be able to wheel with those 35's and still come home after that.  From what I have already read on this site, my best day wheeling would only be a trail ride for you guys, so any help will do.  Future plans include locking up those gears, true trac front, and rear detroit, marlin bumpers, sliders, and cage, warn winch (9000 or better).  These mods will come in 06.  As for the engine, tranny and transfer they will be upgraded as needed (aka when it breaks or if it works very poorly).  Also if any one out there can help with tranny and transfer case reviews for this set up, advice in this area is of great interest as well.  Thanks guys.

4.88's are stronger but 5.29's  will work better with the 35's

dont waste $500  on your detroit,  weld the rear  and forget about it

Sorry man I didn't even see this question come through back in January.  Anyway, my buddy bought those off of eBay and had them in his Toy for a few months and then ended up selling them to me when he traded his truck in on a mini van.  The seats were supposed to be for a Celica but we made brackets for them to make them work in a truck.

Work is still in progress but the lift is finally on and the motor is running good.  Just put the 35's on today and took a couple pics to post, so here is my hunk of junk.  5.29's and the spool should be installed by Friday.  Then it's time to see what's gonna break first.   :driving:

:yesnod: My brother used to run 35" BFG All-Terrain's and never had an issue with axle's on his IFS, but when he put a set of 33" (smaller) boggers on his truck he was spitting axles like a hockey player spits teeth.

Thanks DTB, I thought it was pretty :bling: myself for a rattle can job.  Gotta thank my wife for the 5 hours of taping off that she did to keep me from spray painting everything in sight including the windows.   :yesnod:

Also wanna say thanks to IronClad, The Mammoths, Glen, Collier, Joe, BigMike and everyone else that helped me along.  Stay tuned for my emergencies cries when stuff starts breakin.  haha.

Heres some more pics while I'm busy posting up.  Top one is the tach, second one is the 2 1/4" exhaust ( especially to matt and glen on that one), third pic is extra parts ([homersimpsonvoice] mmmm spare parts [/homersimpsonvoice]) including tranny and transfer case and front and rear axle out of the 85 Yota (saving for my next project), and finally the spare doors which will become halfies shortly.

No headers, and I don't think its a turbo muffler.  But I do know it's an original Cherry Bomb, and I got the sticker to prove it.  haha

No clear coat, yota-tota.  Just 8 cans of krylon ultra-flat tan.  There are some spots where you can see the blue or green bleeding through, but we really weren't going for perfect.  Just wanted to get it one color.  haha.  It's just going to get beat up anyway.  We figure we'll keep a spare can under the seat for instant touch-ups.     :driving:
