couldnt drive it to school, well i guess i couldve but that wouldve been crazy.  i wouldnt trust it, and first year here across the country i need to adjust to everything for now.  next summer i will have an 03 4runner and my white truck out there. but yea :beerchug:

Matty

well ive finally settled into school.  i joined the 4wheeling club and i got to go on a trip to Lefthand, and Carnage.   it was a blast im lovin the colorado wheelin so far.  anyways i have been looking at trucks out here.  i am looking to buy an 86-88 xtracab, and SAS it and the works yada yada.  there are so many rust free clean ones here i cant pass up.  i am going to part my 85 out after wheelin it next summer and use its parts to build the new truck.  the 85 has to many frame patches and rust that i just dont want to deal with anymore.  which leads me to my next question.

i am going to wheel the 85 hard next summer, and i had a lot of close callls this past summer so i definitely want at least an in cab cage.  i have been looking at marlins, and all pros, and EOR off pirates.  my question is, as they are can they take major rolls?  or are they made to just take flops?  also do people usually get them and add more braces like around the windshield and behind the seats?  just trying to get an idea about the cages.  thanks for any info  :beerchug:

Nice dude!  Welcome to CO!

If you don't already know, www.colorado4x4.org has a lot of good trail info.  The Trip Reports section usually has some pretty good pictures.

anything on cages?

Matty

well i didnt think much would happen with the truck for a while, but ive been steadily getting parts so that when i get home and i can just started working on it.  I just bought a 1990 housing from a friend back home with, the all pro chromoly axle shafts, all new bearings, detriot soft locker (which i think is a full carrier replacement  ), 5.29s, and it came out of a V6 so i got the beefy 3rd.  so im very very excited to get that in, get 5.29s for the front and put my aussie up there.    birfs  :smack:

well i dont have a camera again.  so back to a couple cellphone pics.  nothing cool just a little update played on the rocks in my woods.  slid into a tree, truck isnt running to well think it may be a choke or accelerator pump issue.

but it was oh so fun to play with it again.    :beerchug:

4.3s10

the truck looks badass.... i will make sure to bring my camera to get some real pictures with the 36s  :beerchug: :beerchug:

well a minor update and a couple poser shots.  4.3s10 has taken my new diff from the axle i just bought because when we pulled it there were some chips (very minor) on the coast side of the teeth so he is setting it up again (not sure who did originally supposedly a good shop)  so that doesnt happen anymore.  we pulled my other diff with my aussie locker the night before i left and he took that along with the new 5.29s and install i ordered.  he will be setting that up within the next couple weeks

then couple poser shots since it wasnt running right this week didnt really get to wheel it

"Later, I learned that even though I engage 4WD my hubs are not automatically locking? Something about manual locking hubs I think. What's manual mean? I need to read a manual to lock them? lol  So I found these neat autolocking hubs and installed them. Sometimes they dont stay locked while I am backing up, but that's fine because I dont have a backup camera to see where Im going (like our RV) so I just simply dont ever back up"- BigMike

4.3s10 has been working on setting up by diffs the past couple days.  he has been working on redoing the rear 5.29 and detriot,  and he just started on my front carrier with my aussie and 5.29s.  pretty sweet that he can set gears up now.

i cant wait either.  ive been lookin at trailers the past couple weeks so when i come home this summer i can buy one.  I was suppose to fly back to boulder today from break but theres ice storms and such here on the ice coast so it got cancelled.  probably get in monday or tuesday.  boulder is a great place though so much fun.  i hear its quite snowy right now im dying to get back to that.
