Welcome back yotaboy.  Nice looking new tow rig.  How do you like it.  I love my duramax, and when I lift it it'll be a lot better IMHO.

i love it i picked it up about 5 months ago with 76000 miles on it for 18k it tows like hell and rides nice too. the plans are. the edge controller, MBRP exhaust, intake, 6 speed Alli conversion, leveling kit and 33's

Hyena

i have been ok, getting through it slowly.

6 speed Alli conversion

pm info on this.  I've been trying to find out how to swap my 05 over to a 6sp allison with no luck.  I want double overdrive.

TIMS89CRAWLER

I know someone in R&D @ allison and they are coming out with a conversion to run the 6 speed world series (Big rig tranny) transmission behind a powerstroke, cummins or duramax.... thats gonna be the way to go

thats the same one i sent him info for, the only thing you dont get that the new 6 speed Allison's had from the factory is the manual shift option

joey0712

My work truck has the manual shift I never use ii allisons work great in drive imo

no and i don't know, considering that the warranty of the 5speed Allison's should of expired by now i don't think the warranty really matters

joey0712

Ya i guess your rite about the warranty deal. Well ide like to talk to somone that has it before i spend $1700.

joey0712

Sweet! Super nice rig man whats your plan for it?
91 Toyota High pinions f&r.

Hyena

drive it for now.  it has some tranny issues that will be covered under warranty.  it also has a small crack on the exhaust manifold.  it drives super nice though.  it needs a brake controller first of all.  other then that it is set for now.

Blingn

you going to make the trip to moonrocks with it this year? nice truck Brad

Hyena

not sure.  either moonrocks or rubicon for memorial.

ill have my tow rig at moonrocks this year for memorial hope to see you there

Nice looking tow rig brad.  You'll hate the interior though compared to the ford.  At least I did when I had my dodge.  I couldn't wait to get rid of it.  But it towed really well I can't say anything bad about the cummins.

Hyena

the interior is actually really nice.  it is loaded, heated seats and everything.  my ford was a pos compared to this thing.

86bobbedtoy

not diesel but it does the trick.
gonna go 488.
still has the 356s

2000 ram 1500
8" suspension lift

rebuilt trans with aftermarket final drive gear.

soon to get headers, chip, 3" more lift, gears,
and long arm kit this weekend.

I'm simply meaning space and seat comfort.  I had cloth seats but I had back problems after 2 hours in the truck.  The rear seat was a joke and had less room than my friends ex-cab chevy.  My wife couldn't even sit back there without hitting the front seats.  It just didn't work for my needs but I'm glad to see you got a new truck.  You'll love the cummins engine for pulling.
