My mom called me a little while ago to let me know that a childhood friend of mine lost her baby this morning.  The baby was about 18 or 20 days old was in NICU her entire life.  What makes it worse is my friends father died just a few weeks ago, I believe it was just before the baby was born.

My mom called me this morning to let me know that my cousin committed suicide last night and was found in his room this morning.  She later found out that he hanged himself and nobody has found any type of note with an explanation.  I'm not very close with this side of my family, but it's still pretty close to home.

My 90+ year old grandpa lives with them so I'm concerned that this could be his undoing.  It sounds like he's losing touch with reality which could be a good thing given the current circumstances.

My parents/family have been going through a difficult stretch the past few months.  Two of my mom's 90+ year old ladies that she grew up with (i.e. close friends with her parents) passed away.  Then a long time church friend passed away about a month ago that was about their age followed by his granddaughter, whose mom was a classmate of mine growing up, a few weeks later (previous post).  During Christmas they attended the memorial service for my dad's brother-in-law's mom.  Now the current tragedy.

They are ready for some good news for a change.

Please pray for my friends.  They lost a father, husband, grandfather and one of the coolest guys a person could have known.  He was the best at what he does, and he knew the risks for working in the industry that he does.
Sad part was he just buried his first grandson last summer due to a shooting accident.  :rivers:

"NEHALEM AREA - A 53-year-old logger from south county was killed Friday morning in a logging accident off Vermilyea Road.

The victim was an experienced tree faller employed by Fallon Logging Company of Tillamook.

Sheriff Todd Anderson said the accident happened at about 9:41 a.m. about two miles off Miami Foley Road in north county.

"It looks as though he was cutting a tree down, and the tree he was cutting struck another tree," Anderson said. "The tree top from that tree came down and struck the logger in the head."

The man was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim's name is being withheld pending family notification.

Anderson said an investigation into safety procedures at the site will be standard practice.

"It's a high risk profession and this was a very experienced cutter. He'd probably been doing this for decades," Anderson said."

I hope everyones prayers are answered.  When God closes a door, he always does open a window.  When my grandma passed away, she was also my mother, she raised me, and when it was her time to go to God, It was, and still is the hardest thing to deal with.  I cry for her all the time, but she suffered with Alzheimers and Dementia, so God took her from her pain on earth and she is with him now.  I truly believe it.  My wife and I are trying for kids, and I asked for a sign when I went to visit her last week at the cemetary, and when I got back to my truck, there was a pink pacifier in front of my door.  It wasn't there when I got down, cause I would've stepped on it.

Man, I am so sorry to hear that.

Thanks guys, she was ready to go and in fact had stated so. She had declined any further assistance to continue life so it was only a matter of time. I had just left the hospital to go to work when she passed. At least we were all prepared for the end so even though it hurts, it wasn't unexpected.

Havent been on here in a bit, but still popping in from time to time.

As of March 1, 36 more Reno Fire personnel were laid off.  This brings the total to 55 firemen and 3 prevention/maintenance personnel laid off.
All of these people need prayer, because, as most of us know, this isn't just the employees themselves, but their families as well, wondering what they're going to do, where they're going to do, and how they're going to make ends meet.

thanks

sadly Jason the government is going straight to hell   I'd bet the mayor of Reno hasnt lost any sleep over it or had any "budget cuts" himself.
This country is starting to look like most 3rd world countries where the heavily corrupted government officials live in million dollar homes and drive Bentleys where the working man lives in a shack and drives a 30 year old car that belches smoke or just walks.  :tantrum:

No, I was one of the 36.

Theres no money here right now, everyone is hurting, the city is doing especially bad, due to money mismanagement, like glen alluded to.
