Definately good work!!  It looks like your body lift helped out a bit when moving that box forward (less trimming).  I can't wait to see this thing back together!

Thanks, it will be back and running soon.

New StreetRV head with the 268 camshaft all together and ready. I had problems with header studs working there way out well i went to toyota and they have exhaust studs with a torx head on them like the knuckle studs so you can get them nice and tight. Little expensive 2.50$ each but nice and they come with sealer on the threads.

Spent a while cleaning up the top of the block real good. New gasket on

Head fully torqued down to 58 ft/lbs and valves adjusted. Engnbldr calls out .007" intake and .009" exhaust  valve lash

Some bling for the new 20hp look :)

Starting early tomarrow and going to get it running. I forget what its like to drive it!! Cant wait.

Head and cam shipped was 588$ . They got it to me a week earlier than expected, pretty fast.
All Head gaskets (toyota) 85$
Exhaust studs 20$

Its a brand new casting, strengthened in certain areas, and has larger intake and exhaust ports + over sized intake and exhaust valves. I compared the old to the new one and you could really see the ports were quite larger. Good head :)

I spent all day and got the entire motor together. Its ready to fire up but it got dark so i have to wait another day to do that when its light out. Sucks working out in the driveway.

Oh good deal..

Yeah I think I take the cake for the laziness. Ive had kinda bad brakes and a wobbly front end for the last week so I finally pulled it in the garage today and  :shocking: :shocking: :shocking:

Jacked up the front end moved the pass tire side to side and it was tight, went to the driver side and it moved side to side over an inch  :shocking: Came to the conclusion (obviously) the wheel bearing was loose and yeah it was really lose and also the looseness made the rotor move side to side and pushed fluid from my brakes back into the master cyl and thats why i always had to pump em to get em to work.. Yeah its all good now :)

wow that sounds scary. Good thing i dont have to dd mine or i could die. I used to have problems with the stupid wheel bearings because the lock nuts would work them selfs loose till i bought new nuts from marlin and now they stay nice and tight. i really hope it runs good and i get some power increase.  I still have to put the LC motor mounts in and i got my in-cab winch panel in the mail so i gotta wire that up.

I will of course. 12voltguy does have nice panels but everything is way over priced i thought. So i found this place that had winch panels for a very reasonable price.

O for sure!!! good night

Update:

Fired right up! Set the timming and broke in the new cam. Let it high idle for 30 minutes then i adjusted the valves again. Finally finally it runs good! Its like 3 times as quite as it was with the old head. Sounds nice and smooth and runs GREAT. Exhaust sounds a little deeper and the throttle response is better and smooth all the way up the rpms. Revs quick now. I really want to see how it will do going up highway 80 or 50. Has good low end power i noticed it just goes where before it would lug from a stop, and strong idle. Overall im very happy with it  8)

I still need to bleed the crap outa the brakes now because i didnt bench bleed the MC when i put it on.

X2 on that! Now i expect this motor to last a long time. The bottom end is fully reman. and now the top is all new. When i first got the motor put in i could tell they go cheap on the whole top end! The top end is the heart of the damn motor. I know they just pull a old head off another motor and throw it on or reuse the head from the previous motor and thats how they do it cheap.
