Sightings Of The Willy Mammoth

It really is gorgeous up here. We took off from the campground with jackets on and the dogs in the doggy cage but didn't get far before we needed to stop to put something more substantial on and get the dogs covered up.
So we got into our coveralls, gloves and hats and got the dogs in their doggie sweaters.
I don't think it got much over the lo-mid 60's.

And now for some pics...

6. Hwy 82 goes from Lansing to the N. (at the visitor center) and rides into the gorge, crossing the river and coming out at Fayetteville to the S. It was one of the coolest paved route I've been on.

There were a lot of cool places to stop but the sky was starting to look a bit ominous and it would have been a LONG 2-1/2 hour drive being cold and WET!

I could almost see Mark jumping the Mammoth  down in that creekbed, playing in the rocks!

and FYI the Mammoth ran like a CHAMP! No over heating, it was keeping the 55+ speed limit on all the mountainous roads. I am SO happy to see that radiator is going to do the job.

I could almost see Mark jumping the Mammoth  down in that creekbed, playing in the rocks!

He did say they should open the river up to wheeling LOL

we won't tell him the last 2 radiators came from the Markification Fabworx as well   It's all about trial and error. 

Mark said the guys next door have contriban marshmellows. They are extra large marshmellows from Mexico! I must have a picture

He said they used to be bigger but he had them in the motorhome and they shrunk up some. His parents brought them back from Mexico.

They scare me!

They didn't buy them, the one guys parents bought them and brought them back from mexico and they guy we were talking to said the same thing as you, Unc They were not going to eat them. But they are funny as

Well took another road trip in hopes of finding some trails but no luck.
We found a nice lake, the water was really clear but we didn't see any fishies.

On the road again we took an unmapped route and came across this cool tunnel.
It was quite long considering how narrow it was.
Check the politico signs above it, they're still alive and well

We can across another shorter tunnel through the mountain.
And we could not help but wonder when was the last time some of those bridges were inspected

Here are some views from the upper most primitive campground at Twin Hollow.
The cabins are on the other side of the check-in/house. They're built on the side of the mountain and have a gorgeous veiw of the hollow.

well we don't stop to let them get a look at us, we just keep moving and waving. THere is a lot of head scratching at the sight of the Mammoth for sure though. You can see the look of puzzlement in their eye as they wave back.
Like.. WTF?

That's what Mark said, I didn't catch it till we saw the pictures
Wayne here at Twin Hollow said that's 'Gods Country' up that way. I guess he's right, there wasn't so much as a mom and pop convenience store in the 30-40 minutes we drove through there, but there was a church about every 1/2 mile!

Alot of those pictures looks alot like the Tillamook State Forest area where I venture to!
